Close MSN Messenger 6. Open Explorer. Open the following location:

C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger\(your email address)

Open the file ConfigCache.xml in Notepad and find this line:

Change it to

We also recommend changing the ExpireInDays tag at the top of the XML file from it's value of 2 to 100+ so this fix doesn't change in 2 days time
