Well, finished the book.
Tried reading at work, but I was scared someone was gonna see me, or worse, steal me book, so I had to wait until I got home to finish it (fell asleep last night :p). To be honest, the person who I thought was gonna die, did. Not really a big surprise there... Overall, I'd have to say this book was par. Better than Goblet of Fire, but worse than the first three, and that's from a technical standpoint. There were a whole bunch of things which could have been omitted and with little modification the storyline would have been virtually unfazed. Things like these not only dragged the book longer (this book is almost 4 times the size of the first) but left a lot of loose ends which I felt were tied together rather poorly near the end. I'm sure a much more shrewd book critic could tear this book apart... From a Harry Potter fanatic standpoint though, this book was kickass!!! I can't wait till the next book. I'll reserve that shit on Amazon a year in advance. I'll post a summary of this book somewhere on the web for those people too lazy/poor/unable to read this book. PeAcE GO READ IT! |
