my dad took off and travelled at age 25, drove from kamloops down to mexico and almost all the way to south america but ran out of money.... my parents have always told me to get out and explore. but they have also taught me about responsibilty in a sense, i need to learn to support myself before i can just up and go, and i found fresh outta high school i had no concept of this, and hell im still workin on it.
i think travelin at 18\19 is a bit too young, we're still kids at that age as much as we try to deny it. i'm not saying people are not experienced, everyone has there own life, but youve only just begun to live at this age. yes traveling can make you grow up... but my friend jsut went away to england on her own fro awhile, came back and is just as immature as she always was if not more so. i dont think traveling will always mature\make a person find out who they are or affect a person with this world knowledge. i dont think people are always ready to travel right outta highchool.... i mean hell, i still got the rest of my life to see the world, im not gonna rush it. 30 isnt too young to travel.. i think when we are younger we dont realize that are bodies still function at *gasp* age 35. and you can have just as much fun. rather then try to smush all my fun times into my supposedly younger years, i want to space it out and have fun my whole life.
