Volunteering
so who volunteers?
and for what? i've volunteered for c2 entertainment, new music west,the tinman triathalon, and i will also be volunteering for habitat bc, make a wish, and the vancouver international film festival and the queer film festival

I haven't volunteer yet (except for the bikini carwash heh) but I plan on doing tones. Do you have any contacts for the film festivals and habitat for humanity?

w0w over the years I have volunteered to do many things:
-When I was 12-16 I was A Volunteer Day Camp Leader (Assistant) -When I was 14-16 I was A Volunteer Swim Instructor (Assistant) -Ive volunteered for blood drives, flu shots, and at the senior centre. -Ive helped plan and pull off special events in the community -Ive used my First Aid Instructor to teach first aid voluntarily I think thats about it :D

my mum's been making me volunteer since i was 12.
so i started off volunteering at cedar cottage & collingwood neighborhood house, sasamat camp, daycares, front desk assistant, daycamps, and doing first-aid. i volunteer at various afterschool homework clubs during the school year. and last summer i volunteered at a daycamp after i got back from australia. in the fall i'll be volunteering with a restorative justice programme for youth. as well continuing volunteering for homework clubs. i want to volunteer at the museum of anthropology too. but to do that i have to take a test! i'm not down with that... stina* Last edited by vesperstina; Aug 07, 03 at 11:06 AM.

im bored so why not list some stuff i did...
-in grade 11 i created a program called "clubhouse4kids" and a group of us went to foster homes around richmond and vancouver and visited kids... hung out with them for the day. it was neat... and the program is still going. passed the torch down to the younger grades... but I WAS THE FOUNDER. -during highschool i helped out with AGAPE.. where we walked around on hastings giving out candy and hot chocolate to prostitutes... it was a really good experience for me. scary as hell..but made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. -starting at 13 i volunteered at west richmond community center with coaching basketball. i coached kids from age 6-12.. for a season i had 2 teams going on the same time..it was so hectic....and when my 2 teams played against each other...HELL. -im one of the dance organizers at the steveston community center.. supposly im the most knowledgable dance person in steveston.. i organized EVERY dance at my school starting from grade 8.... its called rave knowledge. -my all star friend started a helping group in steveston for special need kids.. once in a while i pop my head in to help out. playing with kids is so much fun... another get away for me. -supposly i have 200-300 dollars in my pocket right now needing to spend on ppl in downtown....*wink wink* if anyone wants to help..let me know. either union gosple, covenent house... something like that....even may children hospital. -does volunteering for raves count? cuz damn ive done lots of that.. just nice to take some work load off some ppls backs. volunteering is good for you.. sure made a difference to my life. made me a kinder person and gave me the knowledge of self fulfillment.. honestly to say..made me a humble person.. which im glad i am.
