I was having a converation with a friend about this. How we both thought that maybe it was hacked to set up something destructive within the confines of the east coast area. That they needed the power to be out so they could not be detected for setting up something destructive to fuk up the east coast massively. Maybe it was just paronia, but in this day and age, it does lead to speculation like that. Remember also that Edgar Casey predicted that the east coast of the USA would be wiped out and the Mississipppi and Missouri rivers would link together to flow directly into the Gulf of Mexico shortly after the turn of the century.

Scary to actually think about and ponder.

That's interesting because my thought was it obviously wasn't terrorists as all that happened was the black out. If it was terrorists they would have triggered the blackout and then done something like blown up a chemicals plant or something. I guess though that they could have done something and it's just not yet apperant...

Honestly I think the easiest thing would have been coordinated arson attacks. Power goes down and they light tons of shit on fire. Emergency crews would have trouble responding due to general mayhem caused by no traffic lights and so on. Also it doesn't require smuggling anything into the country, just the purchase of a few cans of gas. All of a sudden NYC in a huge blaze.

i think it was the gov't...kinda like a test...see how people would reacte...the "man" wanted to know what would happen if a massive power failure lasted for a while..kinda creepy

Well that seems quite unlikely to me but you never know. If that was the case I really doubt that it would have been the "government" that made it happen but more likely a person or small group of people within the government that had an alterier motive. At the same time I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility because causing panic always helps ram through new laws with out people paying attention to public out cry (see bill C 35 or C 36 in Canada or the Patriot Act in the States post 9/11).

I think it was done by the hackers, maybe they got a huge plan to defraud people and become instant millioners or something, I dunno just a thought. Money might of been the motive, blowing shit up is a wate of time, getting rich is sweet though. But ya I hate terrorists, I wanna shove a granade up their ass.
