So the city has approved a 10 cent levy (tax) on every cup of coffee sold in the city that will go towards cleaning up the downtown eastside.

What are the peeps thoughts?

i thought that it was in seattle that they did that, not vancouver

I think it's lame to penalize coffee drinkers for social problems.

Why not put that tax on alcohol? It is more widely sold and consumed, and actually contributes to social problems far more than coffee does (in seattle, I'm not speaking worldwide.) That would be far more effective imho..you can find booze in 24h convenience stores!
