I got a pair of those emo ones and so did my twin. tristan spent 45 dollars on his frames. Cheap. Get contact and buy some cheap frames. ones that are really styling.
Frameless are for girls....My mom wears them. Don't get tortoise shell ones get blue orblack. Rock out man. I look Just like buddy holly. |

Go to an optometrist and get an eye exam. If you don't get some glasses to fix the problem you will strain your eye as it will try to compensate. You eye will also contantly degrade in the vision as it does so, so the sooner you fix the problem the sooner the vision will stabilize.
Contacts are great but if you don't have glasses to do a rotation with then you can do harm to your eyes. Contacts restrict airflow to the eye and the eye can compensate for a day, do it for more than a day and micro veins start to form on the outside edge of the lens in order to get more oxygen to the eyeball. This is a bad thing so this is why you have glasses to help your eye recover. Another problem that happens is where your eyelid and eyeball meet at the back of the lid.... little 'blisters' can form due to irritation from the use of contact lenses. It is common for this to happen, but if you wear them too oftern and too long these blisters can start to grow and start to irritate your eyelid from the inside. I suggest you get some glasses and contacts. Wear the contacts for activities where glasses wouldn't work out and then swap when you get home. I wear both and I use the glasses as a fashion accessory. A properly picked frame can accentuate your face and make you look great. =) Check out Eyestar at Pacific Centre or Skylight Optical at Robson & Denman... Skylight is owned by my friend and he stocks over 3000 different frames so there should be something that works out for you. |

screw contacts, too much effort. plus, if you use drugs (which you probably do because you're a raver, and i know you're max's friend too...) it may make your eyes irritated which could make your contact pop out, or you could get an eye infection.
think of how hellish it would be to try to find a lost contact when high/sketchy, or to try to get it in the right position in your eye. haha. |

Seriously, though, if you do get lenses make sure that you also have glasses as mentioned above to allow your eyes to rest - plus that way if you lose a lens or something you're covered and have a back up. |

As for stepping on glasses, it happens. I've had glasses on my couch and I've accidentally jumped on them. I say you should just get both contacts and glasses. They have their advantages at different times. |

i got an eye exam 2 days ago .. yeah .. i need glasses too ..
FUCK .. but hey.. they got these new silicon contacts that last for like 30 hours or something.. or 30 days.. i dunno .. 30 something.. anyways they are as durable as hard lenses and they dont pop out and dont irritate like hard lenses.. so they are like hard soft lenses that dont pop out |

Any lens you put in your eye is going to get protein deposits in it since the lenses 'breathe'.
However, as more depostits clog up the lens, the less it breathes, this is why you are supposed to clean the lens daily or wear disposabes. Leaving a lens on your eye for an extended number of days is not a good thing, especially when you are sleeping. If you do, you are basically suffocating your eye and causing more damage. I harp as much as I do about eyewear because my eyes are the one part of my body I do not screw around with. Without my eyesight I lose everything as I can't do anything that I love to do, can't see the beautiful things that this world has to offer. If you believe that you can continue living on without your eyesight then do as you please, but for me it is mush too precious a gift to lose. |

I wear glass-permeable lenses (aka HARD lenses). They can last a long time--up to 4 years. My first pair lasted me 3 years, and then I broke one contact in two somehow. But they're relatively cheap for me (because my eyes change pretty frequently) at $198 a set. It may sound like a lot, but I'm sure that if you have to buy throw aways monthly it gets costly too.
I also have a pair of glasses. They are black plastic frames and the model name ie "rave". lol. I need to get a new pair though because that pair is crap and keeps falling apart. If you're torn between contacts and glasses, I'd say get both if you can. Contacts aren't meant to stay in your eyes 13 hours or more a day. -desiree |

Glasses are a pain and so are contacts. Check out laser eye correction. More expensive but it will make your eyeballs "normal".
There are 2 methods, the original method does not require any incisions on the eye but has a longer recovery time from the procedure. Basically they laser the eye surface and that's it, all done. But you feel like you have sand in your eyes for a few days and there is a small risk of complications during this period. The most common procedure involves cutting a flap fom the surface of the eye, lasering the exposed surface, and then replacing the flap. It only takes a few hours recovery time and you can be back to normal activities, although you still need to be careful for a month untl the eye completely heals up from the incision. As for myself, it's glasses with titanium frames with the light sensitive lenses that go dark in the sunlight. And magnetic sunglass clip-ons for super bright days. :smoke1: |

Laser eye sugery isn't 100% foolproof and there is no guarantee that your eyes won't degenerate after the procedure which means you will have to wear glasses.
It is also a NON-REVERSABLE procedure so if they do screw up you have no option but to wear glasses as contacts won't fit. The only procedure that is approved by Health Canada is the insertion of Koric lenses. What they do is sugically implant a secondary lens which will help refract the light so you focus properly. If your eyesight changes they can change the lens, if you don't like it, they can take the lens out. If you plan to get eye surgery this is the procedure I would recommend. When they laser eye surgery places start giving 2 for 1 and discounts on their procedures I get a bit worried. As for glasses they have titanium frames and ultralight lenses now... so light you can even forget you are wearing something on your face. |
