What would you do without MSN?

Like a lot of people are saying...MSN Messenger is gonna get shut down...Let's get it straight here it people...those are the CHAT ROOMS...that are being closed...not MSN MESSENGER...so stop saying msn messenger is being closed...the chatrooms are to be closed on the 14th of october!

If you read all the sites...that have this story covered...it's clearly stated that it's only the CHAT ROOMS not MSN MESSENGER!

who cares man.. even if it were to be shutdown there are planty of even better alternatives.. IRC, ICQ, etc...

Disagree...
IRC...it's good for file transefering
ICQ...sucks...the interface is not as well done...too plain
and plus...the only plus on ICQ to MSN is that you can rename your contacts that's IT

haah i got like half the people on my list freak out about msn shuttin down and everyone switched over to icq. ahhh well. sucks if u one of those frequent chat room users

the only function i liked about icq .. is that u can change the persons user name.. so u know who the person is..

icq 4 ever. msn has file transfer problems for people who are behind routers. but yes, only reason I jumped to msn is because many friends did.

I guess i would use icq... but i never use that.... ever. but *shrug* i don't really come onto the computer all that often anymore, so i don't think it would make a difference if msn were gone or not. Though i do like it.

The only thing I prefer about ICQ is that you can leave offline messages.

But either way, my life would be a LOT more productive if MSN got shut down, so it wouldn't be a travesty. :P

aim and msn are very similar, so im sure everyone would be ok.

i disagree, irc is good for a lot of things besides file transferring, i have had some of my best conversations on there..and still contineu to.

i personally dont like msn, but fussy people will not get aim. :(

Same here. I do talk to more people on msn than icq though. I only check icq like once a week even if cause the same 5 people are always online.

For file transfering though Icq is better in my opinion especially when you need to send like 50 files

ICQ is the devil imo. i totaly hate it the only thing i like is the option to leave a message when the person is not on line. but it just messes up my comp and i hate how easy ppl you dont know can find you. i'm glad msn isn't going anywhere. never tried irc though.
