Where are some good non-starbucks coffee shops to lounge around at? A unique setting would be great.

Bogarts is actually really really good, it's got lots of nice places to sit and chill and it has the best strawberry shortcake I've had in a long time there.


I also like:
Cafe Nappoli (1st and Commercial, best americanos EVER)
Callibria (commercial and 2nd, best vanilla lattes, did you know that the actor that played flesh in flesh gordon owns the place?!)
Blue Parrot (Granville Island)
Melrichie's (Davie st, really good chewy ginger snap cookies!#$#)
I love getting coffee at subeez, because they give the cutest service with it (little sterling silver tray and creamer, makes me feel faaancy, their coffee is also quite good)
Lugz (Main + broadway)
The Grind (Main+25th, 24 hours!@$)
Benny's bagels (w. broadway)
JJ Bean (commercial and 6th)
Turk's coffee (n. on commercial by grandview park)

myra's definitely got some good picks. napoli and callibria are awesome! i also hit up blue parrot when i'm at granville island...they have another location on 4th. the grind is pretty chill too...i like doing work/reading there cause it's generally quieter, esp around dinner time. where i work now has really good coffee (triggiano's, corner of homer and davie)...not just saying that cause i work there (of course). incredible grilled sandwiches and cakes as well! ;) torrefazione in kerrisdale, the well cafe (dunbar and 16th)...where i USED to work - they use torrefazione coffee. they have really good smoothies, cinnamon buns, and grilled sandwiches/wraps/soup. Caffe Artigiano on Pender, Cafe D'Azur on Homer, Taste Of Splendour on Howe.

Sweet Revenge. Main and 25th. Close to The Grind.
Ita a parlor. Its great. A little hole in the wall. Opens late at night. All kinds of tea and coffee, and some of the best desserts in Vancouver. Amazing. This reminds me that I need to go back there....

best vibe is at Benny's on W. Broadway for sure, that place is amazing! great ceasar salad and bagels, too!

I kinda like Bojangle's for coffee, and Delany's (both on Denman) for it's cranberry squares :)
