I'd say that as soon as something becomes public knowledge open to all, it fails to become "underground", and becomes something for the masses. Not to say this is a bad thing or a good thing. I'd say something like Soundproof parties which are usually heard about through selective flyering, and mailing lists are a fair bit more "underground" than say something like "NRG" or something like that. Once again not to say one is better than the other, it's just a fact. PS - DBO and myself are still boycotting their parties. |

hahaha
DAVE GOT OWNED its all good i still love ya buddy speaking of this underground talk. i dont think that promoting a party on FNK makes it any less underground than handing out flyers at a bar. i mean - it takes a certain interest of a certain type of person to access this site in the first place, and thats what matters. sure anyone can come here and see what is going on. cops etc included. but then again anyone can pick up a flyer off the street and look at it to see what is going on too. not too hard. word of mouth parties are a thing of the past. as ishkur says in his rave dictionary - free is a thing of the past in this scene. noone will play for free anymore; and noone will throw free parties. i am swaying from my original point here. fnk does not make raves mainstream. club nights do... radio stations do... possibly some flyer whores do - but thats cause its being thrust in everyones faces. noone forces anyone to come here bren |

As entertaining as kent may be sometimes, you really can't take a thing he says seriously. |

As long as there are people that still spread feeling for what the original intent of the scene was meant to be, the PLUR will live on and the vibe will continue. Perhaps we'll see a true rave renaissance again? I feel there has been some hope of this. The smaller parties have been moving in the right direction lately.

Yeah i'm thinking it's all the newer people with the posative attitudes toward everything. Not to mention an overflow of underground parties. They are smaller more friendly and a much better vibe. A lot more people are focusing on the dancing portion of the night (well a select group or two) which is wicked... gives some eye candy. POP IT OUT YA'LL!

Ya i got tripped up on that you command to one day, thx TK for explaining that to me and not letting me embarrase myself tooo bad like soooo many other ppl do. My first rave was Lucid last weekend and it was great, was what i expected, from now on Im gonna be stoked for any rave that is like Lucid. Not to big not too small. More moderate temperature would be kool, but thats the only thing i can complain about. Im new and im here to stay.
