Just ask people..and see what companies there is..but be careful cause there is places where they will take all ur money and take off..SO when u find an angency..ask people if they have heard of it and then go from there. Its not always easy tho..if u really want to be a model u have to look hard. Its not easy to find a good agency.

i dont think its a good idea to drop out of school ofr modeling. Cause what happens if ur face gets all fucked up and cant be fixed..then ur out. They dont want u if ur not hot anymore. I think u shoudl still finish school and go to college or university and have a back up plan.

Hahahah...ya modeling isn't very fun. st me. But if you're serious about it you first need some headshots, then you need to go to a modelling agency where you sign a contract to work for them and only them, and they sign you out to different people who need models for stuff. It's not really bad but it's SO time consuming and whoever said have a backup plan was SO right... If you need some god agencies pm me.

I love modelling. Except unlike the modelling you guys probably did I get to dress myself up in outrageous and sexy outfits and pretend to be certain characters in interesting scenarios. PLus, so far its all been for myself basically, so there isn't as much pressure on me if I was sent out from an agency and weighed down with alot of expectations. I'm sure that takes away alot of the fun.
And as the other girls have said, there is alot of slime in the industry. Even if the agencies don't boost on you after taking your money, they still can be ripping you off. If they pressure you to take hundreds of dollars worth of classes and pictures, which they do to everyone no matter what they look like if they are a scummy agancy, then don't bother. Even photographers, people who say they can get you jobs or make you famous etc. there are alot of people out there looking to extort and abuse young girls looking for "fame". A great way to get a portfolio for cheap or even free is contacting local photographers (ask for refferences and never go to a shoot alone or with another girl your age, jealous b/f's can get pretty messy) and ask for Time For Print (TFP). Alot of photographers are looking to build their portfolio as well, so as long as they can use some of the shots from your shoot, then they often supply you with a cd-rom of the images or a certain amount of prints. With this arrangement you often end up paying either nothing, or for film and prints (which is a hundred times cheaper than the $500 portfolios agencies often push you to get). http://www.labour.gov.bc.ca/talent/list.htm http://www.canadianshowbizkids.homes...om/agents.html http://www.reelwest.com/happening/bclist/bclist.htm www.onemodelplace.com |

ok that's it I'm starting up my own agency! i'm gonna call it something like "Big Daddy's models" so feel free to send over your fotos, don't worry they can be topless if you want! i'm open minded, complete nudes are welcome aswell! oh yeah and this is for females only.. there will eventually be a branch off for the males later on! but that's not my concern!
send pics to [email protected] for now till i get my site up and runnin! Cheers, Cinto Eric J |

i have a handful of friends who model. all of them were scouted though. but i'm pretty sure you can "apply" to become a model. all you really need is a couple of decent headshots to get you some exposure.
i think it also depends on what kind of modelling you want to do...ie. fashion...or generic commercial modelling, etc. i'll ask around and see what's the best way of getting into it for you. -s. |
