BAGHDAD (AP) - Without firing a shot, American forces captured a bearded and haggard-looking Saddam Hussein in a dirt pit across a river from one of his former palaces near his hometown of Tikrit, ending one of the most intensive manhunts in history. The arrest was a huge victory for U.S. forces battling an insurgency by the ousted dictator's followers.

arab santa clause...that's hilarious. Shit, he looks so different eh? But, one thing i don't understand...saddam didn't do a direct attack on the usa...but bin laden did...what about binny? They seem to have forgotten about him. My dad was telling me that Saddam won't be put to death...which is kind of a let down. Something about he geniva code or some shit. They'll probably end up hanging him anyway, like they did to the nazi's who were found like 30 years later and hung to death for war crimes. This world is fucked.

I wouldn't be suprised if theya re still looking for Bin Ladden, it's just not what is making headlines at the moment.

If I had control over his sentencing, I'd torture and kill him (ok not personally... ) in one of the ways him and/or his sons have done to others. I heard about the possibility of the States putting him in solitary confinement for the rest of his life which is pretty horrible as well. I'm sure the people that have lived in fear because of him have an idea simular to mine. However, there's always the risk of people still silling to serve and help him if his country is let to with him.

What I'm wondering is when and where did they ever get a DNA sample to compair the new ones to. Sadam had numerous "lookalikes" pose as him over the years, who know if this is one or not? They say he admitted to being Saddam, but if he was one of his lookalikes/servants, he'd be more than willing to say that he was (I think, I'm sure Saddam will always have some power and intimidation over someone, including people who have previously served for him like his body doubles). I'm sure they took samples from the men who they again "thought" were his sons, but then again you never know what kind of conspiracy they put together.

1. the usa sold him most o the chemicals he used on his own people
2. it was the usa who supported him back in the day so they could go after the oil
