What Book Are You Reading?

What's the title of the book(s) you're reading?

I'm reading The Two Towers by J.R.R Tolkien, and 1984.

Both of these novels are perhaps the most intrigueing literature I've read in ages.

Wellz...

I had a spare today so I went off the library and curled up in a corner with a book I'd been meaning to read for ages, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, I've heard amazing things about this dystopian tale of censorship but to tell you the truth I wasn't very impressed... I love the dystopian genre, but I love it because I always find that the novels are more profound, more deeply philosophical, like 1984 or Brave New World... Fahrenheit 451 progressed way too quickly (I did finish it in an hour after all) and was so incredibly simplistic that I felt as if I was reading an adventure story in the "Teen" section. Bleh.

1984 was damn good though.

The Tao te ching

and

The road to heaven: In search of chinese hermits (fucking amazing look at modren taoism)

K...

I just went to Chapters (yay Chapters!) so the new book I'm reading is "The Glass Palace" by Amitav Ghosh which is, to the best of my knowledge, an epic about the British upheaval of the Burmese government as told by an orphan and a child attendant of the Burmese royal government. I'm excited. :)

I own that book. I never knew anyone else(even through the internet) that had read that book. Maybe after 1984 I'll read it. Also Lord of the Flies questions humanity and realities.

Ninja Boy: It took me forever to get through The Fellowship of the Rings. The Two Towers is much more action influenced, and cliff hanging on the characters. *shrug*

Ms.PigGy: (IMO) the fourth Harry Potter book is the best! I don't care how easy to read it is, it's fucking fantastic! I wish I had a book like that when i was aged 7-10. (kuma looks like harry potter pass it on)

I think you are taking a different course. I'm taking Cisco certification, and CCNP is for Cisco Certified Networing Professional. (CCNA, CCNP then CCIE)

In the scheme of things that will make me a level 2 Cisco professional. It adds an extra chunk of money when I negotiate my contracts and opens some more doors.

After that I'll see if I can achieve CCIE or Cisco God status. Now that is one TOUGH exam.

You fly to San Fran or Halifax, and it is a two day exam. You take day one, if you don't pass this day you just go home.

Basically...

1984 is a novel about a future in which censorship and thought-control reign in the noble hopes of creating a utopian society. This is of course challenged by our hero and yadda yadda yadda... Big Brother is watching. ;)
