Anyone been to Hawaii??

Hey,

So I'm making a spontaneous trip down to Honolulu, Hawaii. Just wanted to know if anyone's been down there before, and could direct me to some hot spots. (ie. record stores, restaurants, tourist attractions, shopping,clubs etc...) Love to know of some good clubs to hit up for some hip hop/breaks.

addy - i have been there.

waikiki is awesome, if you can find the hilton hawaiian village (possibly the nicest hotel there) there is a nice hostel right beside it for @20 a night and you can sneak in and use their pool etc. it is very close to the main drag and walking distance to a huge ass mall.

i cant remember all the names, but i think the mall is called "Mauna Loa" or something. its all outdoors, like no doors, ceilings (except for the actual shops)

i was there like 2 years ago, and the mall is awsome i think it's the largest outdoor mall i nthe world.. plus it's really cheap! go get dippin dots there. .mmm.. if u get to go around the island theres a hotel in the north that you can go and pay to go swim with dolphins, it's relaly cool but i dunno if they still let you.. plus there are a ton of beaches on the east part where there are surfing competitions all the time.. plus the dole plantation has that maze.. and for clubs i think they're all around the beach, just ask the locals..

oh yeah - make sure you check out haunoma (sp.?) bay for some great snorkeling.

don't really know what to suggest for clubs and stuff....all i did was lie on the beach all day lol.....bring alot of sun tan lotion. Boogie boarding is awsome, and you should definately try surfing, but i think the funnest thing i did in hawaii was snorkling.....it's awsome....it's a must do in hawaii!!

i went to the big island for a grade 11 feild trip, got to go see the observatories on Mauna Kea (so cool up there - there was snow!!), walked on a two week old lava flow and actually watched some lava bubble out of the rock right in front of us - very cool, have a cool picture of that... went in a real submarine... went snorkeling, saw a sea turtle but didn't ride it (it was on the beach so we left it alone).... went to a old hawaiin village right by were Captain Cook was killed.... smoked some really good hawaiin weed with some local hippies... and on and on... good vacation all round, especially for a school field trip (go physics 12!)

ive been to hawaii....

go to that polynesian culture place.. (tourist attraction) they do those fire dances and stuff.. .definately worth the money.

- if u like cheap stuff.. they have some flea market. i don't know exactly where it is =\ its at some stadium.. its fuckin huge. theres like stands of cheap stuff all around it.

i just went to Oahu (the capital island) over Christmas - i had a great time!!

The big outdoor mall is called Ala Moana Shopping Center, it's really nice! for cheap souvenir-like stuff go to the International Village, it's in Downtown Wakiki (on the main street, i dont quite recall the name, but you can't miss it) as well. Go to Sunset beach - it's gorgeous over there!! hmm... parasailing was fun. and yeah, i agree with Narcotix, the Polynestian Cultural Center performance i went to was reallly cool, but a bit stylized.
ahh the weather there is so nice right now, and all the locals i met were really friendly, i'm sure you'll have a great time. :)

I'm in the process of figuring out what days I'll be going, but it looks likes I'll leave on Jan 28th? That would be MAD if we hooked up in Hawaii... I'll let you know details once I find out.

Wow... haven't been there since I was 8 Addy... Make sure you see the upsidedown tree in Honululu if you can, and I agree that the night life in Waikiki is fantabulous!
