It will never never fully die. For as long as there is music there will be underground parties or "raves". Plus i'm sure the production companies aren't slowing down and the last few parties have been packed to the max. So I think it's doing really well. Argue with me all you want people... it's what "I" think. :toasted:

Cody all i have to say shut up you fucking raver :tounge1:
You see cody is a candy kid himself LOL jkjk Yeah but i agree with cody. Especially with the hiphop acts that some companies have brought in the scene should definitly pick up. Btw for all those who don't already know about the whole Plaza Of Nations thing. Read Kraig's Post. It's sad. Fuck the city that's all I have to say. I guess this just means more raves at PNE LOL. :PartEkid: |

Realize that it'll never be as good as it was when you first started partying. Partys last year (for you) kicked @ss over those happening now, and today's newbies will just never understand it. Just like partys when I first started (for me) kicked @ss over those that were your first, and you'll just never understand it. Just like partys when those who raved before me (for them) kicked @ss over those that were my first, and I'll just never understand it.
There's always going to be change and evolution, simply because people change and evolve. Will it die? Likely not. Will it look the same years from now? Probably not, and honestly hopefully not...change is good, change is what makes things fun and exciting and new and different. Which is probably why you enjoyed it so much in the first place. Also, keep in mind that one of the main determinants of your experiances is your attitude - start bitching about all the barstars you see and guess what? Insta-bitter raver... K, enough blathering...time to get back to work... |

Reading this reminds me of the topics in the edmonton message boards two years ago. The scene here won't die, it will just change.
The city tried to outlaw afterhours and raves a couple years ago. We had a protest party on the steps of city hall on sunday morning. It stopped them from outlawing "raves" , but they introduced legislation making it near impossible for a promoter to throw a party (espensive licence). Not to mention that promoters only had TWO venues to choose from in the entire city. The only massives that happen in edmonton anymore happen at "reds" in west edmonton mall (weak). The small parties moved back underground, and all of the promoters have put their energy into electronica nights at the mainstream bars (advertised on radio). In short, enjoy what you have right now. I count at least 4 or 5 parties in the next 2 months , and a bunch of club nights. Edmonton will have ONE party (outside of afterhours parties) if they are lucky this year. People in edmonton would KILL to have a healthy scene like this. But all good things come to and end, so enjoy. |
