Erm, whatelse? Some Beavers and Cub Scouts. Dunno how but ended up placing third in a poetry recital. Lots of sports, tho' of my own desire, really. A little band, tho' I got to play my Dad's electric bass guitar so I was the man. :smoke1: Some acting but, even tho' I got a lead role, I was never hardcore like some of the drama kids. |

Im also on the debate team, and am helping to represent the school in an up coming mock UN conference.... Im also in something called "focus group"...we basically lead discussions about issues ...media...opinions, our job is to get kids 'thinking' about the bigger picture. Ummm In school i hang out with most everyone,Im a drifter, but im known as that "smart rocker chick" who plays guitar. or the "hippie"..meh, probably due to the fact I say "vibes" alot and nag on people who dont Recycle. I dress a little offbeat, but im well liked by many. Im a pretty well rounded nerd, but I love it...I love it so much.. :p |

oh yeah and i wore a cool blue and grey uniform b/c I too went to
catholic school. And i was the president of the clean team!!! I created a group of students who helped clean the disgusting cafeteria we had during and after lunch. We actually got the whole skewl to clean up after themselves for like 2 weeks which earned us a "wear anything day" I forgot about wear anything day and ended up coming to classes in my uniform. DOH! |

oh no.. this is going to bring back a lot of not so pleasant memories....
- Gymnastics for over 4 years - Figure skating for 2 years - Karate - only went up one belt level - Grades 4, 5, 6 and 7 I was on the Volley ball, basketball and soccer teams - Elementary School Patrol - Track and field during grades 4 - 7 - Office Monitor and Library Monitor - grades 5 - 7 - Peer Helper (haha Bev, you spreaded the plur too :kam:) grade 6 & 7 - Piano - 6 months - Flute - 6 months - So many acting classes I've lost count - Choir - grades 5 - 8 - Toastmaster public speaking course in gr. 7 - Swimming - up to level 6 - Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer teams in grade 8.. 2nd place in the city in Volleyball and 1st in the city in Soccer - MC at the xmas concert - grade 7 - Valedictorian at my gr. 7 grad - Won the Elsie Whelan Award for Citizenship in grade 7 - Sent to "Enriched/Gifted Program" in grades 3, 6 and 7.. it was a program in which two students from every elementary school in my school district would have a taxi come pick them up and drive them to Maquienna and one year Lord Nelson to do enriched work that required abstract thinking yes, at one point in my life I was considered "gifted" - Sang a solo at the West Inn Bayshore hotel when I was 12, in front of 500 school trustees - Gladstone Mini School (advanced classes) grade 8.. humanities and math and science courses - English honours all throughout highschool - Tap dancing - 2 years - Numerous awards won at Renfrew Community center and Collingwood Neighborhood House for Volunteer Work - Lots and I mean LOTS of volunteer work done for Renfrew Community Center and Collingwood Neighborhood House - Painted murals (one at Slocan park, and a few at various elementary schools) as part of the "Art in the Park" project - Competative Cheerleading in grade 9 - Basketball in grade 10 - "Clowning around for kids with cancer" 5k run at Central Park in gr. 9 - won the grade 8 acting award at Gladstone - won the grade 9 acting award at Kits - Currently occupied with "Grease" :( That was depressing, when I compare my more present accomplishments to those of which I experienced when I was younger I feel like a total failure, at one point in my life it seemed like I had so much going for me in terms of school, accomplishments, volunteer work and just extra curricular activities in general. Whatever, I have rehearsal in 20 minutes, I'll get over it. |

I tried to be a geek to fit in with the cool kids.
Seriously though I was a tryhard. There's something about being an extrovert while at the same time being socially inept that just turns you into an outcast rather quickly. I did get to know the inside of my locker quite intimately. Eventually I started playing with computers a lot because some of the other geeks would play with them, and seeing Hackers got me into techno on the most part. According to the PE page I'm "all purpose". Jack of all trades, master of none. Though I do run linux and post on slashdot. Oh, and I watched a lot of Star Trek. Does that qualify? |

I was in ARMY cadets for 6 years. It's like scouts, but a lot more hardcore- 'cause you get to dress up in combat uniforms,
fire full automatic fire arms in range practices and rappell off cliffs, bridges & hellicoters. For the most part it was geeky b/c you had to always iron & polish up you parade uniforn & you always had to be the sharpest dressed mutha in your whole platoon. It was highly competative- which resulted in fights with other platoons. Last edited by C_squared; Jan 20, 04 at 08:01 AM. |
