Thoughts On Alternative Venues
Hey, as posted in the other thread regarding the plaza of nations going buh bye, I wanted to start this thread on some other alternative venues then plaza, which looks like it will be gone IF there isn't immediate action taken (which I'm prepared to do). But as a back up, I have thought of a few other venues, open air, or in door. Please discuss.
1.)SwanGaurd Stadium (Close to a Sky Train, would be a practical option) 2.)Agrodome (Could be cool) 3.)PNE Forum (44,500 sq ft concrete floor area, Means of Transportation: the #14 Hastings St. bus to Renfrew St) 4.)Croatian Cultural Center (Ideal For a smaller party: Auditorium 1: 7772ft, Auditorium 2: 3760ft, and Room B: 1396ft, Total Capacity: 1100 people) 5.)Thunderbird Stadium (Maybe not as practical as SwanGaurd, but would be great for a very high end production) If I find any others I'll post them as well. |

I think the Pacific Coliseum is gonna be the next most-used venue. It's convenient to get to and it's right in the middle of cities. I was there last night for this Chinese New Year festival thingie and it really IS a nice/big venue. Total IMF flashback, and the breaks room looked sooo much bigger than it did at the party. I just hope they turn the heater on or something for future parties. :toasted:
How bout Chilliwack Heritage Park? |

Yeah the P.C. would be cool, Chilliwack Heritage Park I found was a good venue but @ Spooky I found it really cold. Never know tho, that was a first time deal, if that aspect was adressed, plus a few other minor details, it could be cool, mind you booking another chartering system/rotation might be costly. Good ideas tho!!!

Some other venues that might be possibly used for raves? |
|

It is a hike for a large number of us, and getting several Greyhound buses like at Spooky would be ideal, but I think I speak for a lot of ppl when I say that public transportation is a big concern; Hence my post earlier on my list of 5, (CCC doesn't seem worth it tho, as pointed out...)

this topic has been talked about so many times.. and the promoters before you have already exhausted them.. the plaza was the last viable place for an actual LEGAL rave/music festival without going over production budget. looking for new venues and coming up with excuses to tell the property owners that its NOT A RAVE will be difficult sorry but you guys are left with dealing the shit end of the stick deal with it |

there was also another venue on i believe nanaimo and 1st next to the gas station.... this big spooky lookin' white warehouse lookin type... been to a rave there around 4 years ago ... really had the underground vibe and the entrance into the place was fuckin crazy!

Yeah, thats something my buddy dennis and I are thinking about organizing for the summer for this year, or next possibly, "we can book a hanger at the airport for a hefty amount of cash" Dennis says, "When I come back from Fort St John, I think it would be sicc to organize something like that..." I agreed, and well, perhaps this would catch some FnK user's attention with some good headliners? Could be good times... |
