vaguely elated
he took a seat beside me
expecting conversation, i stared blankly at him vaguely elated. I blinked my eyes, his lips parted, he dare not make a sound, I already knew without him saying ...was nothing profound. And there we sat in silence, searching each others vast eyes, waiting for the moment, when wed say our goodbyes. i relaxed in my chair and sighed he said il bid you adieu now... not a tear graced my eye. I watched as he slowly got up from his chair his eyes still on mine trying to act as tho he didnt care. My silence followed him as he walked away ...my silence follows him to this very day. And here i still sit in silence, searching the vastness of these open spaces and here i still sit in silence remembering our somber faces |
