i know from my mom's point of view is that she is a lot more comfortable with me going to raves than clubs.. due to all the media talk with random shootings at clubs. yes she is quite informed about the deaths at raves as well..but she knows they are all from drug overdose. she trusts me enough to stay away from drugs...so its a fair game. ive only been to a handful clubnites..and i dont feel welcomed in the scene due to my age, so it is definately something i can wait out on. and when i do have the previledge to go to a club..it becomes a special thing, instead of "just another rave".

i dunno if my comment has been said already but i was too lazy to read all throug the rest of em and antenna boy here has been blazin the boards with his comments.
Its all relative, i mean it depends what ur tryin to keep ur daughter away from. raves in generall are classified as illegal events. (im the older peoples head) My parents didnt even think there would be security and such at a "rave" I mean raves have the drug problem, but the atmosphere is a lot more happy and to my findings, in the past few years i havnt encountered "much" violence, except for the few scraps at plaza or creepy people. I have to say the amount of horney guys have increased, but thats also due to the fact that scandalous dressed girls have also flocked the dancefloores along with the barstars and their dress shirts opened up. Clubs have their downsides too, i mean drinkin driving, fights, creepyguys. To be honnest ive seen more girls leave the club with guys theyve met and people havin sex with totall starngers then i have at raves. U can easily get DRAGGED into a fight at a club via bouncers, someone else thinkin ur givn them the cock eye, or hittin on the wrong girl/guy. You can have drinks spilled on u and ur brand new shoes stumped on by some drunken retard. So ur kid can go to rave, possibly pop E, and a very very minor chance of gettin into a fight. Or ur kid can go to a club and u have to worry about drinkin drivin, fights and possibly sex with a totall stranger. Im not promoting one over another, but in general, for all activities, get to know ur kids friends. Not all of em, but the ones he/she hangs out with the most and talks to on a regular basis, ask where they are goin. And if they talk about someone whos name seems unfamiliar to u ask who they are. I m no parent but this is how my parents raised me, and i think it has worked well so far. Ive stayed out of trouble except for the few times when a friends friend couldnt keep his mouth shut, but these situation are unavoidable regardless what u do. So button line to this LOOOOOOOOONG, but possibly imformative reply. BE RESPONSIBLE. no matter what the fuck ur doin. Have AT LEAST 1 person u can count on when shit goes wrong. That person is usually ME within the circle of my friends. im a good boy :D |

I did things rather differently than a majority of ravers who hit up a Plaza Party long before they were legal. I was clubbing for a long-ass time before I ever went to my first rave, popped my first cap, etc, etc. I still enjoy raves on occasion, and especially the friends I've made/will make, but I still prefer clubs a helluva lot more. However, RAVE ON!

One being that raves are a more "happy" environment, I understand that you're saying they're probably less prone to violence but in the scheme of things but I don't think raves are happy places at all, they're just a place where everyone can eleviate their seratonin levels and pursuade themselves that they're happy. Raves are a disguise, especially plaza parties and that only shines through once everyone starts coming down. I don't know what to really think because there is that trust factor and I mean if I trusted my kids then I would trust that they wouldn't go off and have sex with some random stranger, how can I trust that they wouldn't go do drugs over sex... doesn't that seem a little bit hypocritical? Antenna_Boy: I don't think that raves are more expensive, because you're paying 40-60 dollars for a ticket and that's really only the price of massives that don't occur that frequently. If you're going clubbing on a pretty regular basis then you're paying for cover and drinks which can easily get up to 30+ a night. |

I'm not a huge clubber, but i look at it in a practical point of view...a ticket is still 40-60 bucks...what can u buy with that money instead of going to a party?! Clubs, most of my friends pay for me, and I rarely pay cover for any club i go too :smoke1: |

i meant to say my friends cover some of the drinks and yes i do drink. i guess, it would make sense to say, if u have the money go to either or, i dont care. Each environment is socially different. I like both. But raves are more fun. If it is a party WORTH going to, it makes sense to spend the money to go to it. Same thing for clubbing. Why go to a club where atmosphere sucks and u drink urself stupid lol

1) You're describing E, not raves. The two are not one and the same, I'm afraid. 2) Plaza Parties are not raves. They never have been. Quote:
