If you want rave artists as in 'musicians/producers', then my vote, as always, goes to Aphex Twin in '97. 'Nuff said.

relax kids. DJing is an art if you take an artful approach to it, it is a medium that can be used to create new & unheard works. obviously if you mix a couple of records, say 'wow this is easy' and go no further with it, that is not art. It's hugely ignorant, though, to assume that just because you weren't inspired to get creative with your quickly acquried skill, that no one else is. of course, i'd say 99% of DJs out there don't approach DJing as an art.... but the same could probably be said about photographers, designers, musicians, etc. It's art if it's performed with an artistic spirit.

BT Tiesto was damn lush too US the first few times.... wouldnt rate in the last few years tho.. also PeeWee Ferris at strawberry fields 94....
