Initially, the promoters threw parties for pride, their buddies, DJs and knowing that they were king-shit. The Supersweet parties were great examples of this. Eventually, pride was replaced with money – at about the same time “community” changed to “scene”.

Partys are not dead, The new genoration is only taking over and the older kids are growing up. Just some of us dont except it. Kind of like a Parent not understanding the kids of today. Same deal. So just sit back and tell stories of when you were a kid and how raves were only $3 to get in.

Um.

The thing is we want to participate in the next generation. It's just that they aren't doing anything NEW. They're just taking the simplest ideas from what ravers were doing in the early 90s and just rehashing it week after week. As a result they've become stale and unoriginal.

It's not to say ravers aren't still raving. It's just not happening as often, and the number of how often it's happening has been declining ever since the kiddie ravers took over.

Christ, I already had this huge debate with Pussy_Kat no less than a month ago. The scene is most DEFINATELY in decline, and has been for a long long long time now. Fuck, it was already in its last legs when I got going with it in 98... That was 6 friggin years ago!

OK For a guys that's been around the block a few times as well I can tell you that the Rave "Community" as it was back in the day it isn't the same but with that said nothing stays the same forever it must evolve and become something new. Each generation tacking their peice onto the community to make it theirs. I have and continue to love wathcing the evolution of this thing we now cal a rave "scene". Rave's aren't dead they have evolved. Thank to companies like TWISTED who have ran with the ball with open ears and adjusted their show style to meet not only the expectations but the ideas of the new generation. I'm sure in another 5 years the "scene" will take another shift and again people like you will appear on forums similar to this one saying the same things. What you are saying is true and maybe the rave scene has evolved to something you do not like but many and I say many others like the new style and continue to support it. If you were and are a true member of the rave community then all the other stuff you have mentioned shouldn't matter because you should be focused on the underlying meaning of Raves's
And as for Akeel shooting the rave scene dead well.............Where you going to spin then. No raves no ladder to climb.
