prices... not so good, bottom charge is $60. but you pay for the talent.
i found the front desk lady to be a little bitchy, but she probably puts up with alot.
steve is definately the guy im going back to for my next tattoo and i totally recommend him.

yeah his name is steve cole, aka breadman.

he is one of the best in canada i would say. he did both my sleeves, and once i'm done drawing it, he will do my back piece as well.

Shaun, I know that. I think what I mentioned about price was just the cheap/broke ass in me speaking. I gave the same lecture to my sister last night about peircings, so I know I'm going to have to spend some dough if I want a quality tattoo. Luckily I saved up :) I'll have to brace myself when I get a quote on my next tattoo planned. much bigger, much more detailed, and much more colourful. Yay for pin up girls!

thanks again everyone,. I think I have enough to find myself a great tattoo artist for me and my piece, but keep them coming if there's more.

Now speaking about Tattoo Mags. I have this silly dream of being in one after I get my tat's done. Now does anyone know anything about getting YOu in them, and not your work (ie: model with tattoos as opposed to tattoo artists work). I guess it would help if the artist you have has already been featured in mags? Maybe I should talk to the artist or mags themselves, but if anyone knows anything about getting into mags like that I would appreciate the info.

edit: not just IN one, I'm a covergirl at heart :D

props (eeww.. lack of a better word) for you drawing your own. I've drawn and designed all mine, and always will. I'm just a little stuck on how to incorperate the technique/idea I have into the design I've already created and need some input, which is another thing I wouldn't mind getting.

:p I spent two years at the front desk of a piercing and tattoo place and we do deal with a lot of shit....However, I wouldn't feel comfortable getting a tattoo if I didn't feel comfortable where I was getting it done.

As far as Artists go, especially if you're looking to get something more traditional, I'd reccomend a friend of mine named Dennis, his shop is right next to First on Granville (I think it's called Anarchy ink?), he did up my best friend's entire back, it was a piece that took two years and it looks absolutely amazing (If I get access to a scanner, I'll put up a picture.) He's also done a lot of other traditional pieces (stars, sparrows, spades, etc.) on friends of mine and I think his stuff looks really really good. I find that as well, he does quality tattoos with great, vibrant colour that can really lack in other artist's work. So trust me, if a close friend of mine can trust him and be devoted to this piece for two years, I would reccomend him to anyone..heh

everyone should draw their own, or at least try to start it.

i'd say draw as muhc of it as you can. bring it in to steve cole or whoever you decide to go with, talk to him about how you want to improve on it, and he will keep drawing it and changing it until you are happy.

you can't beat that.
