Why did you start raving?

i think i was going into grade 10 or 11, summertime, me and my friend derek had been into DNB and hardhouse/NuNrg for a few years and decided we wanted to see some live music and check out what an outdoor massive was all about... Good times!

I greaw up in germany, and clubbing there is like a rave. Adding the fact that I am a lover of electro and that clubs in van suck really cheap ass and that there was a rave on my birthday (neverneverland!!) I just went and checked it out.

i love the atmosphere. everyone is happy. also, most of the people who go are like me. it's not like at school where you have to find common interests among people. if they're there, they are for a reason.

I started because i was 18, and there was nothing to do in cloverdale. I love it because I can be myself, and not have to worry about what others think of me...I didn't do E till my second rave, and i'm glad I did...because I know that I can party sober, which is a good thing.

I've been listening to Electronic Music since I was 3 years old dancing to MJ's Thriller album and Herbie Hancock's Future Shock album in my parents' living room.

When I rediscovered electronic music in Grade 9 (1996) courtesy prodigy, orbital, underworld, kmfdm, and in the next year commander tom, the platipus records label, chemical brothers, la style, josh wink, and ministry of sound in general brought me to a basic understanding of techno/house/trance/etc. Considering I always listened to this music by dancing in my bedroom to it, going to a rave just made sense. So one day I hear about a party out at forestry pools and I go and dance my ass off to some really good music. I've been raving ever since.

Why did I start going? Well...a bunch of buddies made it a regular thing, so I thought I'd go for it. I'd been producing various bits of tech step, funky breaks and hip hop in the late 90s...and went to my first rave in 1999...and I never looked back. I continued 'til Fall 2001. Then I took a couple of years away from it all...and found my way back again. My first party back will be Insomnia, and might as well enjoy it before Plaza is lost to our culture...

I'm almost the same way.. It was MJ's black and white album, actually. ;) It all started with Z95.3 - Live at the Rage every Saturday night at 10, faithless - insomnia, future breeze - why dont you dance with me, da hool - meet her at the love parade. My first rave was broken up by the police in under 2 hours. I remember just looking up and feeling at home, i've never gone back to anything else, trance music is my life. Solid Sessions says it best (Solid Sessions "Janeiro" (Armin van Buuren Remix) -
"This is my home. This is where I love to be. Running on the beach... Smiling cause your next to me. This is where you saw my name in the sand.. In Janeiro.." I am there for the beautiful music. You won't see me anywhere else but in the trance rooms. If they don't play trance, I'm not there.

I wake up to trance music.. I goto sleep to trance music, I get in my car and drive to work - I listen to it all the way there, I put on my headphones until I get to my desk at work, turn it off - do my job, put it back on my head.

It's all about the music for me.. I was at Godspeed last night sober. I had to sell my E in order to buy my ticket, hah. I try to goto them sober, but I mean E just makes the night feel so much better. It gives me energy, it makes me love it even more. I even listen to trance music while having sex, so when I get off I can have that same feeling, HAH!

But yeah, E just makes the experience better. Doing it all the time is just ludicrous. I do maybe half a tab in a night, maybe two halves. Too much doesen't allow you to enjoy anything but your high.

i lvoe to dance.. and skool dances werent satisfying me and i wanst old enfuf for clubs... my best friend told me about raves.. i kinda expected it to be like the things u see on TV but then i went to Twisted '03 and is aw how much different it was.. and i jus got caught into the little raver underground world.. and since ive been raving ive learnt moves that ive always wanted to learn or i saw on TV and i thought was cool and trie dbut didnt work..

I was 15 when I went to my first party. I didn't even realize I was at a rave. I had been watching bands play at an all ages concert and when the concert ended a couple people told me there was going to be a party after and that there'd be music. So I stuck around. Turned out to be my first rave!!!

i started raving cuz i was tired of the club scene....listening to old school techno is not my kind of styel..so, my sister said go to rave...ok...so i go, then i got hooked, who cares about clubs in that case, people dun know how to dance there either....And the majority of ravers are friendly, some are really really friendly :trippin:
