i used to think that the World was a shit hole, and truly it was a few years back, but it's been brought up-to-date and now it's actually a pretty cool place.. they put in a new lighting system about this time last year and the sound is pretty good for a place its size. the tunes are superb on fridays..... aaron quist is one of my favourite van djs, a real master at the tribal/tech house genre..
anyway give it a few years boys and girls and you'll all be going to afterhours. vancouver's just a bit behind but eventually everything you're used to will move into afters and clubs... after all, raves are just late-night clubs for kiddies these days, aren't they. just prepare for some more serious party hours. my last night out at trade the main dancefloor didn't open until 6:30AM and went until 3PM. none of this 9PM - 8AM bullshit.. hell, i'm not even drunk by 9! moohoohahaha. right. anyway. tonight it's off to beyond with the more modest hours of 4:30AM - noon.
