i agree with dating someone who is so intensely involved in what you are.... it would get boring.
if i were dating an artist all our talks would be liek "goya this and maple thorpe that.. my oils arent drying fast enough should i use more thinner? i lost my conte, thats a nice ink drawing but look what i can do... blah blah blah..." dating someone who is honestly interested in your work is amazing though, or who can enjoy your passion. maybe its just me, but i think i would get bored if ours lives were so similar. also proves for more interesting situations. you can teach each other stuff, like processes in printmaking or mixing some songs together. if your a good boyfriend, with confidence and all that jazz, your gonna land a girl. and if your occupation or your time is spent djing, then thats jsut a part of you. plain and simple. and like wellbelove said, if your a girlfriend and your sitting at home while your dj boyfriend is out spinning at some party, why are you sittin at home being jealous? you should be the girl in the front going crazy in support... |

I think that in any relationship, there must be a solid level of trust & understanding. If a girl is dating a performer of any sort, they must understand the everything that comes along with him being in a constant "spot light". I truly believe that opendly expressing what you are most talented at is the most important thing in the world, as well as the most attractive.
As for the issue of "all the girls in the place wanting to fuck him" Personally, I would laugh @ all those silly girls & be even prouder that the "dj boy" was all mine! As for the "spending more time spinning than w/ girlfriend issue" Hells, I would want in on the fun & spin those rekkids with the boy! :PartEkid: All in all, I think that loving someone & their passions is the ultimate kinda gift a person can posess... teehee, just some thoughts... :keebler: Last edited by ~*faeryfly*~; Feb 26, 04 at 10:28 AM. |

whatever deejays, shmeeejays.
Yeah, its nice to date a person who is passionate about something, and has a life away from the relationship. (does that make sense?) i am attracted to people that have lots of interests and stuff going on so if thats a dj then fine. Ive never dated a dj and i honestly know fuck all about music, making music, spinning etc. Jelous partners just suck all around though and any person in a relationship, dj or not, who has a significant other pulling them away from there passion for there own insecurities isnt a peson worth being with. |

i'm pretty sure a lot of djs have the attitude that they CAN get a lot of girls...now i know this is a stereotype, but everyone knows its the truth! now bret, i'm not saying this is you...but i'm pretty sure that all the girls love you, and you don't have a problem finding any...but decent girls, i think are hard to find. ( this goes vice versa for all you female djs!)

i would think being a dj and trying to find a girl these days would suck.
for the last 5 years everyone is a dj or is trying hard to be one, there seems to be some originality missing. i would think girls would see that. nobody wants to be with someone who is a dime a dozen. |
