Trades made by the Canucks

Hey Just wanted 2 hear some opinions on the trades made by the canucks yesterday .. I think they did good by picking Rucinsky but they would have been better off with Kovalev IMO ... Also going for these old timers is kind of a risk too ... What do you all think ?

Rucinsky: smartest deal yet.

Geoff Sanderson: I thought we got rid of this guy a long time ago cuz he sucked, so why bring him back?

Bergevin: can score goals, has speed, I think he will contribute well.

We shoulda traded Cloutier for Kolzig or sniped Salo before being traded to Colorado. jk

no way man, overall rucinski is worth every penny of the $1.8 million left on his contract.

Ain't too costly, and he is a plus 13 on the rangers. A PLUS player on the rangers, not to mention plus 46 for a career. That says something regardless of what people think of plus/minus stats.

Sanderson gives canucks more depth up front, and crawford and company can make changes to the first few lines accordingly

u got ur Sanderson and Bergevin backwards buddy. Bergevin is the old stay at home defensmen who only has 36 goals in 1182 games i think?? but his attitude and playoff experience is an important asset.

Sanderson is the speedy player, who we never should have gotten rid of to start with? I still don't remember why we got rid of him, but like linden he is back so that should help the canucks offense nicely.

go check the other trade's thread for my stats on rucinski and sanderson

Rucinsky and Kovalev cant even be compared. the price tag for both is way different. Like Kenji said Rucinsky is a career +46 and he is a 5 times 20 goal scorer.

Bergevin was recently voted by some newspaper or sports show i cant remember. But he was voted to be the funniest guy in the NHL. Great character and will definatly help out the mood in the Canucks dressing room afte the Bertuzzi incident. And on top of that he has plenty of experiance and will help a bit.

Sanderson is a "former" 30 goal scorer. Although he hasnt been doing much for a while he has great speed and will give us great depth as were short players rite now too. and also considering we gave up nothing for him.

Overall pretty good moves.

I said Bergevin "can score goals"...never said he was a full out goal scorer LOL :)
and yes, he did score 36 goals in 1182 games..heheh, the most he ever scored was 7 goals in a season with chicago and whalers (woh)

I think Sanderson could be a spark in the playoffs

and lets just hope the Rucinsky from the Blues shows up
cuz he can be quite the player when he wants to be

sanderson is a former 30 goal scorer, um last year wasn't that long ago. and his centre cassels has been out for various stretches throughout the season. puttin him with the sedins could be awesome.

i like these moves, i really wanted a stay at home d-man, cuz ohlund's only one man. rucinsky's gonna do good too, he's startin on the big line tonight

I do think that Sanderson will help with the top line for sure, but I am really waiting to see what Rucinsky can do with the twins, unless he gets bumped to the top line. All in all, we have some goal scoring to do and games to win....Minnesota is next.

Lest we forget the canucks lost 6-2 to the Minnesota Wild on February 19th

"When it comes right down to it they won because they scored more goals..."

Antenna Boy, have you thought of talking to FOX sports about being an annoucer with them?
