I was just talking to someone who out of all of us knows more on this matter than anyone else. Basically there is no stopping it. The owners of Plaza lose tons of money each year. Slamming a casino there is way for them to make a lot of cash flow and acually make some back. It's bought, the city already said it was a go, the construction plans are all done, and building of the casino will start asap.
It sucks, but we have to face it. The only way we will get Plaza back is if the city says "Hey Casino owners.... FUCK OFF!", not in that context, but you get it. |

OK, This is a tough one as I know everyone wishes to see the plaza survive. The petition is a good idea but I think you'll find that it's a little too late. The city has made a commitment to the casino organization and to back out now they would surely be sued for the loss of time and potential earnings. This amount could be extremly high if they chose and the city would have little to no legal foot hold to stand on. A change in location would be great and moving it to the lower east side is a good idea as well but as mentioned before it might be a little too late but I do encourage you to persue it without delay.
THIS IS A COMMENT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE SAYING SUCH THINGS AS "Why should the city listen to a bunch of ravers" Well this is simple because these are people that care about something that is happening in this city and would like to stand up for it. Will the city look at it with an objective opinion. proberly not but this should not stop anyone from trying to stand up for something they believe in and hope for change. If you hate ravers and raves so much get the F**K off a forum that was originally established to support this scene and it's devoted audience. I look forward to these last two events at the plaza of nations (for now) and continue on in finding suitable venues to hold future massives. The city's promoters and companies that have worked extremly hard to keep this scene alive when many wanted to bury it are once again stepping up to regional citys and and councils to ensure that this scene no matter what the state of affairs are with the Plaza. Last but not least thanks again to everyone who is helping out with constructive thoughts and ideas we (as a scene) need everyones help right now and in the future. G |

Just a thought but a 3000 person sit in at the plaza of nations outside stage on some random day could be interesting! I'm not saying a whole lot about this but if anything it might get some media coverage and let the city know that there's alot of people in this scene and their voices would like to be heard.
Just a thought! G |

Robyn, I love you.
and if only every single petition saved the cause it was out to fight, the world would be a different place. I love the part about the downtown eastside put in there, like how many of you actually put an ounce of caring into how it is there? The only reason most of you want this saved is so you can save raves... |
