It's better to be able to defend yourself, and not have to; than to have to defend yourself, and not be able to.

(sean's gonna love that.)

IN OTHER WORDS, I have a sociology exam tomorrow and sociology has taught me that REALITY IS A SOCIALLY CONSTRUCTED CONCEPT.
people could just as easily be unable to conform to the norms of society because of a biological disposition to be less responsive to morals and shit that are taught to them.

although I feel a sociological perspective has a lot of validity, it still does not explain anomalies such as Ted Bundy, who was a goodloooking and educated man and came from a good upbringing.

on top of that, it also does not explain why there are much more men who are psychopathic. assuming that the amount of men and women raised in ill-socialized environments in their youths, you'd probably expect the same outcome would you not?

although I don't agree with the one-sidedness of a nature vs. nurture debate, an explanation could be environmental changes during embryonic development.

True, my wrong. But dispite my mix up, the point I was attempting to make is that it is difficult to attribute an individuals mental chemical, and physical makeup to either Nature or nurture.

For example, have you heard of the fat gene. This is genetic code that makes individuals predisposed to being overweight. The fact is, that an individual can have this gene and still be skinny... Kind of loopy, but there is some truth in there.

True, point taken. I gave a week example, I was just trying to point out the onesidedness of his statement.

Man, I need more sleep.

I need to go back to school!

been reading a bit of Aesthetics (art philosophy) and quite enjoying it. Alot of good articles on music and the theories behind it. If you're interested I recommend the work of Aristotle, Bell, Bosanquet and Collingwood.

i have no clue joanne, with my first year levels of psych/soci I don't feel that I could make a strong enough argument on anything... but considering how I just read an article written by an author that was arguing the social construction of PMS, I'm sure that there are material available somewhere out there that does attempt to explain psychopathy from a more socialogical perspective..

who knows, maybe they'd look at expected gender roles to explain that difference. eheh.

I've learned how to stay a little more stable these days by not getting to carried away with things. A little this way and a little that way instead of going to such extremes all the time like I used to. That and I'm starting to learn how to manage money...

ummmmmm.....what she is saying indicates that she believes that nurture plays a larger role in determining behaviour.

hyperactive babies from birth? sure....maybe people dont realize that young children are naturally very active.

and how can a baby be hyperactive from birth, at birth they cant even crawl, let alone walk or talk.

dont take moments for granted,
if you have a will you can get mass amounts of work done in a little tiny bit of time, :106:
not to worry if your work offends other people and they tear it off the walls :154: so grow thick skin cause someone else may be around the corner offering you a show,
no matter what anyone says, stick with your own style\follow your and heart & instincts not other peoples opinions.
