Canadian Teams in Round 2
I think this is the end of the road for all three remaining Canadian teams. Altho I would like to see one of them win the cup I just dont think its gonna happen. Philly will take care of the Leafs in 6. Tampa Bay just has so many talented scorers, Montreal won't be able to compete unless Jose is on top of his game all series long. And lastly.. Fuck Calgary for obvious reasons.. But they mite just get lucky and ride Kiprusoff to the Western Finals. That is doubtful tho.
What do you all think is gonna happen in round 2 ? Last edited by Jblaze; Apr 22, 04 at 02:26 AM. |

Toronto as you said will lose in either 5 or 6 to Philly, there just on a tear and riding Robert Esch's stell play.
Calgary will go down in 6 or 7 prob 6 to detroit, though they could luck out but i think detroit will be too worried about another collapse like they almost had in round 1 against nashville. Montreal has in my opinion a really good chance to beat tampa in 6 games. Montreal has good speed, and a good trapping defense. Timely scoring is happening for them, and theodore is getting better as the playoff's go on, last game a shutout!! So in my opinion the best chance a canadian team of going on is montreal. If this series goes 7 i think tampa May have the edge |

i think Calgary has what it takes to make it to the finals
if Kiprusoff continues to play as well as he did against Vancouver and Iginla continues to get a couple goals a game they could take Detroit... Detroit was having troubles with Nashville! there's no reason to rule them out |

also i wouldn't rule out San Jose yet. they could take out colorado in the second round. the west belongs to the winner of the western conference final. Don't jump to conclusions |

What a surprise, Colorado lost and so did Detroit... Kenji you were right about the 1st game atleast. But im sure Colorado will bounce back... Detroit on the other hand might just not be able to beat Kiprusoff... But its to early to tell.. tonight should be interesting.

^ detroit will still beat calgary in the series i believe. Its the colorado vs san jose series that is intriguing. I had a feeling colorado would lose the first one, it depends on who wins game 2. I say colorado will lose game 2 as well than be down in the series 2-0 and lose in 6 games.
the west final will be detroit against san jose. note how bad aebisher was as well |

" I HATE TO SAY IT BUT TOLD YA SO!!
What do you think of them avs now? " U got me there man I really thought they would pull thru this year. San Jose is playing with alot of heart. But on the other hand im pretty much right about all the Canadian teams losing in the 2nd round... unless Calgary proves me wrong. They won last night but not by much, this series might goto game 7 aswell. |

Some teams just play so well at home. Both calgary and detroit seem to but detroit has the edge in home advantage in my opinion. |

It just turned into a tampa bay speed game, with theodore having to be extremely sharp, and trust me even though they are down in the series 3-0. T heodore isn't playing half ass bad at all |
