Finally after years of investing and research, i have finally built a dj setup sound system that just fuckin RULES in my books!
2 Yorkville YSMP's 1 Stereo Harmon Kardon Amp 2 Yamaha Full Range Speakers (3 1/2 Tweeters and 10 inch Subs) - Further gonna upgrade the subs and tweeters on the Yamaha speakers.... prolly another $300 on there Now i'm working on filling the room with 2 more towers and a nice 12 or 15 inch sub...... awwww man once that is complete i shall have the sweetest system! |

yeah we've got an audi a6 and the bose system is really nice.. but the cd player's a little quirky now :(
and i hope your dj room is sound proof otherwise you wont be able to turn your system up too loud without shaking the whole house hehe |

they have their own wiring system and every speaker is individually amped. The cost for upgrading a bose system can go well into the thousands of dollars because you can really only do it (and get the parts) at the car dealership. fuckin audi has quoted me a $500 price tag for a new cd changer and if i have my car already pre wired, it will apparantly take them 5 hours to install it.... and they charge 100 an hour. fuckers. and if my car isnt pre wired (which is more likely) that will add another 5 hours. so the whole deal will cost over 1500 plus tax just to install a fucking cd player. i had a good bitch at audi and bose... but they cant do shit all about it. i really think this unique technology strategy on bose is so fucking frustrating. if i were to build my own system in the car, i would stay right the fuck away from bose |

my old volvo's stock system was wired up the same way, a few car audio places told me it would be a shitload, but then i went to car tunes in coquitlam and they said it wasnt a big deal so they ripped out all the amps and then rewired the new headunit to the factory speakers and everything was fine...didnt cost much either...those guys knew what they were doing. |

Just spend the money and get a new head unit, amp & new speakers.... the total won't be that much, when you factor in how much better it will sound compared to stock. You can install it yourself... it's not hard.. you just have to say fuck it to all the stock speakers cuz they run at a fucked up resistance. No offence sean, but I'm pretty sure that the system in Martin's Audi is a lot more sophisticated than the one in your ol skool volvo... His is individually amped to each speaker whereas yours was just factory amplified.
I could be wrong as we all know I talk outta my ass sometime :P |

My current personal system is a JBL system. A total of one powered 15" Sub, 2 Towers each housing 2 x 10" Subs Mid and 2" Tweet. JBL Centre Channel, and 2 Rear Channels that house 5 1/4 with a 1" Tweet. All powered Via a QSC amplifier and a Harmon surround sound reciever. Generally this system can really pound and in full 5.1 Surround sound.
