I think gorgeous is totally missing the point here. I have tons of american friends. Fuck i lived in the country for a year and half. And i'm plan on working there in the future. The point most of us are trying to make is the weighted average of intellegence of americans is definately and undisputedly lower then Canadians. Its so obvious its not even worth arguing about. Thats doens't mean every american is dumb, but for every smart american there is an equally dumb one. Obviously americans have a huge problem with us saying that. But from a completely unbiased perspective you can't help but draw such conclusions.
Instead of accusing us all of being racist and biased, how about trying to argue down the points that have been presented. How about offering some factual information to discredit the arguments instead of just crying murder. |

Not the first time it has happened. However, when bush became president, it was during a standard election. He lost the people's vote, but still became president... different circumstances |

oi.
i have gotten into so many arguments over this.... its crazy. i had this supposed best friend, and all she would ever do was bash americans and go on about how great canada was.... and she would do it in front of my american mom. i came so close to slapping her so many times.... yes the american educational system is different then canada's, rather then learning about the world in history, they learn about america. doesnt mean they know less, just means they know different things. alot of the shit we learn in history in highschool is wrong and biased as well.... like some have said alot of the way a country is reflected is by its leaders. go to the states and start asking around who actually belives in the war on terror. not alot of americans do now. my uncle is as red neck as it get, hes a member of the nra and sometimes i cant believe teh shit that comes out of his mouth, but he's against the war on terror, and i wouldnt consider him one of the more educated americans. but back to the point, there is actually more crime per capita in canada then in the states, its seems like more down there due to population - but look what's happening here in our own gastown, we dont live in such a geat society. also the american media is more directed towards the bad then the good. my brother just came home from nova scotia, and with all the bad shit that their economy is going through, the headline news over there for 2 days was "man and women found hamster in garbage bin still alive" thats alo different then hearing "another terroist attack\another murder\andother rape" every day. and we watch american news on our channels, we see it, we shake our heads. why are we loosing our nurses and doctors to the us? some of the most well educated citizens leave this country to go work down there.... but this argument could last for days and days. its kind of redundant. people either like americans, or they dont. personally i feel we are all one country, because our sense of materialism is the same, and both countries have so much to give the rest of the world, but neither does. canada has its ups and downs too. i was lucky to see many sides of america, from the trailor courts to the extremely wealthy horse track owners, to middle class all american families. and i respect all of it. you say america is too patriotic? canada is jsut as patriotic if not more, and out history isnt so grand either. |

i get the point... and i know i'm not going to change the world by saying what i think in fnk but i thought maybe it would help some of you to change yours views but i guess i was hoping for too much...
i just wanted to people to think about the things they say... people do hear more then you think... and i never said anyone was racist... |

Not only was the guy a total pimp..but he lead Americans through a long period of national economic prosperity, which is obviously unparalelled by Bush. |

yeah clinton was a pretty solid president
boosted the economy and nailed chicks (albeit ugly ones) most people who say Americans are dumb base their opinion on stories someone has told them not from there own experiences if they are so dumb why are they a world superpower? |
|

i've been working for, with, and talking to about 50 americans a day.
they really are - fucking stupid. My father is american, and he is dumb as a bag of hammers. I would say the average american is not stupid, but the majority of the people i've talked to, just really dont know which way is left. |
