Working at the Plaza of Nations.
This place is wicked to work at. There are so many perks. Anything at the plaza i can attend (including the cave), there were many "first aid" meetings (radio code for "lets blaze!"), working at one the the most beautiful places (right across the bay from Science world) and they call you and ASK if you can work and if you dpn't feel like it then you just say "naww". the only draw back was the crazy mixed up hours. |

if you're under the age of 18, there's an awesome government-funded summer program for teens.. I did it when I was 17, and I hope they still run that program because it was amazing... It as an 8 week summer job exchange in which you can choose any province within canada to study french/english... while working in that particular province of choice...
I chose quebec and was assigned work as a canoe guide and office worker.. the jobs available depend on the location you go to, and you might end up with a really odd job. The amount you get paid is the minimum wage of that province you work in... the government pays for your airfare/train there and back home.. they pay for your food expenses, your activity fees on the weekends such as going to an amusement park/white water rafting/horseback riding/festivals/cruise.. whatnot.. and because you're staying with a host family you have people to take care of you, free food and a cozy room to stay in..On top of this, because you're working for 8 weeks straight you earn a bit of spending money and you have many days in which you can explore the city on your own... the only catch is that you need to be able to make your own house available for a mutual exchange, and you as well as your family need to undergo a screening process. it's great on your resume too. thank-you taxpayers! |

i agree. but i didnt like smelling like plaza after work, and some things we found were really gross. but besides the gross stuff, it payed good, i met new people\made new friends, got to work with a good friend, met my boyfriend, and then got to go to work with him which definately made work days better. my absolute favorite thing about plaza (besides meeting aaron) was the free concerts... foo fighters... oh my. but my favorite jobs have always been the ones where i am working with kids, i always end up with a funny story every time, and even though some days i feel like pulling my hair out, i still love it. |
