theres a smaller sub genre of producers who still produce Nuskool Ragga/Edits/Mash ups....but most people haven't heard it, and or can't tell the difference between that and todays new age drum&bass. If ur talking about actual Jungle 92-97 era, then i prefer Drum&bass, as oldskool jungle, although good in its own right, doesen't sound as huge as today's drum&bass...im more a fan of the Techstep/neurofunk that has been released in the last 6 years.
Im sure Wood will be here soon to school us all on the topic though. |

Its been called Jungle since it first morphed into jungle from hardcore. Stuff like congo natty, old stuff andy c did, ganja crew etc etc. then it all just turned into Drum&bass, as the genre evolved into different tangents of dark, tech, liquid, funk etc etc. its all called Drum&bass now. except i prefer to sub-categorize it only for the purpose of helping me select tracks for mixing, and to follow whats being produced these days... if u wanna hear recent jungle mash-ups.. download some Krinjah, Remarc and the like. im sure Angst from nwdnb.bc.ca would be able to better school u on the topic |
