If the Liberals lose seats to the NDP and a minority government of any party is elected, the Liberals will still get to attempt to form a standing government.
Even if the Conservatives win more seats than the Liberals, Paul Martin stays prime minister (and the Liberals the reigning party) if a Liberal/Other Party coalition government allows his party majority support. Splitting the vote is only going to matter in ridings where the votes for the NDP/Greens cause the Liberal to lose to the Conservative. The Conservatives may get more than anyone else, but their refusal to coalition with the Bloc or the NDP means that they're either lying, or expecting to win a majority. In closing, if you really don't want a Conservative government, vote Liberal or NDP. And if the NDP are going to make your riding conservative by vote-splitting, vote Liberal. Otherwise, vote however you want. Last edited by Niko; Jun 26, 04 at 08:09 AM. |

VotE NDp!!! (part4)
Balanced budgets are less important than lower taxes...
Debt is monetized & GDP growth (tax base growth) can make existing debts look smaller and smaller. Government debt levels isn't the most important key to a good economy... it's only a small part of the equation. When you have a family with two people working full-time. If you actually break it down, one works to pay taxes, and the other to pay for living expenses and to save for retirement. This have a problem. When you then have Mr. Layton say "now that have spent your whole life saving, I can spend your life-savings better than you" and further installs a capital gains/inheritence tax of 60-75%.. there isn't just a problem, there is a systematic assult on incentive & GDP growth.
