TELUS is horrible. I used to be on telus, and it sucked major shit. and the customer service is stupid. every month my bill looked different, and i had to call and complain.
Telus is really good if you are dealing with corporations, and major business connections. but for personal use, fido is the best. |

veni,
im in the same boat as you... my phone doesnt work in abby and thats where i generally spend my whole weekend... :soak: so ive been looking in to switching too however.... im guessing that youre on city fido? ($45ish for unlimited calls) and the plan that telus "matches" is only 350 daytime mins 250 canadian long distance mins unlimited local evenings and weekends so its not exactally the equivilant to fido but if thats all the mins you think youll use telus would probably be a good option :) |

my plan is the best one ever. 50 bucks a month. unlimited weekend and evenings from 6pm till 6am 700 mins during the daytime free telus to telus calls unlimited text msging for and extra 5 bucks. and i get a new free phone every 2 years. i love them and the plan. who cares if i'm locked in. i always have to have a cell phone, so it doesn't matter. |

TelusASS sucks ass.
Rate plans suck, customer service sucks and their phones suck. The only reason I have stayed with them for so long is for their reception and I've had my phone number for over a decade. It was a major ordeal to get my non-Telus branded handset to be put onto the network. |

i'm on city fido for 45 bucks a month with unlimited anything and i don't think telus even comes close to that. plus i think telus will end up charging you that stupid new activation fee and those charges each month and what about a 250$ deposit, do they wave that?if they do i'm so going to telus fido sucks and i hate my phone

I've been on Fido for 4 years and I'm VERY happy with it. I don't know what's with Fido users that complain about not getting service in certain areas - the problem could be that you have a crappy phone, not that the service is crappy. I've never had a problem (except for in basements and underground parking, but that's a given) with the service area, plus they're the only company that has full service at SFU. Also, with Fido, every year you get $192 of credit towards a new phone!
My mom has Telus and it drives her nuts because the customer service is terrible and her service fails in areas it should be the strongest, and my boyfriend has Bell and he can't wait until his contract ends so he can get the hell out! IMO, stay with Fido! As long as you're with them, and you stay on one steady plan, they will never change it on you, even if they don't offer that plan anymore - with Telus, Bell or Rogers, even if you do get a sweet deal, the max number of years you can have it is 2-3, and after that they can say that they won't match the plan and try to rip you off! |

hmmmmm . . . im with Rogers, i hate them, they have decent phones, cheap phones but i HATE the customer service. THEY ALWAYS RIP U OFF. I would switch to telus or fido but telus has a declared hole in my area (westwood) and fido doesnt get reception up here too well either. So im stuck with it. Me and my dad BOTH. Its funny, cuz a lot of people, and i mean ALOT of people complain about fidos reception. Some of my friends have to dial a number 2 3 times before it goes through and sometimes they dont get messages, or maybe they lie through their teeth, but on the east coast fido is HUGE. Everyone goes with fido and no body has any problems with the reception. But in regards to this thread, DO NOT go on the pay as you go plan. I mean you think u r gonna use a certain amount and when that runs out you wont use anymore, but you will end up buyin more minues and you will waste more money. I mean you ll end up buyin 10 $ phone cards, and u buy 3 or 4 in a month you would be better off on a plan, plus u get free eves and weeknds. if you have a problem for a co - signer, get a friend you can trust and hat trusts you, and sign up under their account.
