fuck the SPCA ** protest**
bahh. . I'm pretty choked right now, here's the story...
My friend has this kitten that got stepped on, accidently. It's neck is broken, but it hasnt died yet. . Its slowly suffering it out, in pain, dying it has been for almost a day now. Now, this buddi takes it to the SPCA and asks them to put it out of it's misery. They say no, u need to make a $50 *donation* And u guys definately know what money can be tight, especcially when ur not expecting it. They explained this to the Spca ppl, who, very politely, kicked them and the kitty right the fuck back out. The "Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" will not cover the cost to euthanize this kitten. I just found out, and I *hope* I can pull the money together. .. But it's already been a day, and man. . I cant deal with the thought of this kitten sufferin. I'm not saying dont donate to the SPCA or nething, its a great cause. But i think they need to consider the action plan for doling out money a little better. Not everyone can afford to get their animal fixed, and even more, this is not even asking for veterinary help, just merely to get a kitten to stop suffering. . . . |

I'm sorry to hear about this. But if you lived in a remote town of 200... hours away from any close town that hosts SPCA. You'd be left with no choice but to take care of it yourself.
Your other option is to put a bullet in it's head (or find another quick method to end it's suffering) |

yea, well, i dont live 200 miles from the spca, no i dont have a gun . . and no. . the kitty cant be saved
I actually dont kno how it happened. . I dont know? Ive stpped on my cats tail before. . its horrible but it happens? I dont fucken know :( And it was theirs |

its a fucking cat, i'm sure that its already pissed off that its not dead yet from the broken neck...sorry but i know its sad and all, but ITS A FUCKING CAT!!! if you cant do it, give it to someone who can kill animals, but make sure they do it in a quick and torture-less manner.

the spca is becomin somewhat of a joke. They had this article in the paper about them a few days a go in the province. And how some municipalities are refusing to work with them. Apparently there was a big shock when the public found out how much some of the workers are making!! Anyways i hope this works out for you.

I know that costs money also. But if you have a pet such as a cat, you assume responsibility of it when something happens. If your friend can't afford to do that, then that is really sad. :( There are other shelters. Meow Aid comes to mind because LDUB volunteers there. Try contacting them. Maybe they can help? www3.telus.net/meowaid Last edited by M!SKA; Aug 17, 04 at 12:57 PM. |

the SPCA is a total money hungry originzation.
I if i were close i'd donate some to help the kitten :( *luck* My birth dads step kid broke his hamsters back... and he gave it a tranq pill .. and he died. Theres this place out hear called katies place, and they "take in" "stray" cats...well we found a stray and we called to bring it in because he was afraid and hungry and cold.... but they said "sorry we don't take in strays" Bull shit... bull shit to all thos money hungry "animal lovers" kiz if you truly loved animals, you'd do something about this |

All's well, ppl.. Like I mentioned, me and the ppl pulled the Munz together. . And sayin some places are "no kill" well thats only for strays, they will usually always put a dyin animal out of its misery. Thats interesting that there was an article in the news about how much money SPCA workers are making, I thought they wre non-profit? Hmmm. .. .
Well, anyways ppl the kitty is in a better place now; there was no way to fix it either, just put it out of it's misery, right. . still . . that was a messed up experience. |

I've been hearing more and more stories like this recently. in my own experience I find them to just be very unhelpful. a few years back, the last time we had a really hot summer, my cat had climbed a telephone pole and couldn't get down. he was just holding on with his claws and theres was a wasps nest there too. I was frantic and I called the spca to see if they knew who I could call to help me. they told me that that wasn't their job. I said this animal is suffering and in need of help, where does that whole prevention part of their name come into play? they hung up on me. I know I should have called telus or the hydro people first but I really wasn't thinking straight. the point is that a lot of the time, they can be pretty useless.

It's truly heartbreaking to hear this... i know.... i've had to put my last doxen down because she had 2 fused discs in her spine and was paralyzed.
Still... if you can't get the money together and have NO OTHER OPTION.. some kind of bag with a small hole in it, put the cat in, take a hose from u're exhaust and hook it up to the bag opening, 30mins and kitty will be in a better place painless and no stress on the animal my heart goes to your friend |
