I got one on my shoulder blade.... it doesnt really hurt that much, I Heard it does if u get it on ur backbone. It might be annoying, but it´s all right. After u got it, u´ll want to feel that needle again and get another tattoo....
It doesnt hurt after u got it.... in some cases it itches, but u gotta keep it very clean, put on a cotton t shirt..... put the antibiotic cream on between 3 and 5 times a day for the first week, then slow down and switch to the normal lotion.
Anyway, hope u´ll enjoy ur tattoo!!!! I bet u won´t regret gettin it !!!

Wow, this thread gets me even more pumped! Goin in for my first on Wednesday!

I am not worried about that pain, but I always have it in the back of my mind that it may hurt like hell, so I think I will be ok.

Do they let you bring your headphones in and listen to your own music? Or is it best to actually talk to the guy?

u can bring whatever u want. alot of people like bringing music so they can chill out and not think about the so called pain they go thorugh. and if its not for the pain sitting there for 1,2,3 or whatever hours is pretty boring as conversation with the dude usually isn't much

My artist lets me put on whatever CD I like

I think its best if you you liten to him closely.. because sometimes you stop breathing, and don't realize it.. he'll guide you though the pain.

just trust the dued... you gotta be comfortable with him, and your enviorment and you'll have a good experence

just drink a smoothie before you go in.

Hahah! Totally, eh!?

I just wanna go in there, sit down with the guy, throw on my tunes, sit back and have a good thinkin session with myself and come out with an awesome tat. It would probably be a good time to get some shit figured out with myself, like not meditate, but you know what I am saying.

Off Topic Dialogue Ahead

Speaking of smoothies... have you ever been to Booster Juice? I think there are 3 of them in Kelowna and not sure of any anywhere else, but if you ever get a chance to hit one up, do it!

Anyone wanna let me know..

Thanks!
the first 10 to 15 minutes are kinda owwy
after that your body settles in.
it feels kinda like burning slightly.
kinda like cutting at the same time.
depending on where you get it done.
you chose a good place. thick skin there.
not gonna hurt too much.
you can take it.

the 5th and 6th hour are intense

cycled breathing.

deep meditation.

you go into yourself.

become the pain.

remember to take a break about every hour or so for a few minutes.
take a small jaunt about the shop, home, wherever it is you are getting it done.
take a pee. Drink some juice and water. Eat an apple.
stretch. (just not the area you are getting done)
shake your self out.
roll the ol' noggin' about a few times.
Get back under the machine.
(don't call it a gun you'll insult the artist.)

It's ok to be nervous.
ASK questions if you feel the need.
Don't push yourself too hard
don't punish yourself if you can't get it all done the first day
have fun.

take an warm knife and slice butter. And then try to understand how much it might hurt. Got it? Thats what it feels like. Then u got the tapping of the needle on the bone, but hey as u say if the girls can do it. I got mine done and well i love it. Just suck up the pain and go for it mate.
