Fnk - Ski / Snowboard Prelims!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Boys and Girls

I would just like to say. It's getting cold,
and that can only mean one thing.....

SNOW ON THE MOUNTAINS!

This year I would like to take on the task of organizing a FNK Ski/Snowboard trip. And my fellow FnK'ers I would just like to say I am fully commited to this! =D

I'M SO EXCITED!!! I LOVE WINTER!

I'll most likely hit all the major ones. separate events... once a month
big white, whister, cypress, sunpeaks and maybe zermat if i find out what the shit that is

I got one a month, sometimes twice a month, on interior snowboard trip.

I usually take the Monday off and leave Friday night, stay in the hostel for $25-30/night, ride for 3 days and come home Monday night.

Total cost is about $250 for 3 days, accomodations and food. $300 with alcohol. :)

And Zermatt is in Switzerland... 100 times bigger than Whister/Blackcomb combined.

my uncle has one up there, but i dont think he'll want party animals roaming his 5 million dollar home :p

i just got a new jacket and pants the other week.
but this first one will probally be b4 jan which is when i return to work since i am out with a bad back it is probally not the best idea to go boarding

lets goto big white, they have a new 3 million dollar snowboard park.

im not gonna be able to go though until i figure out a way to get my set-up for this season.

:o how long ago was this? Because im debating weither to go back to sunpeaks for spring break, or head up to big white again... i like sunpeaks because of the wide trails and awesome backcountry (same with whistler) but i wouldnt mind hittin the back country at big white again, and also this new 3 million dollar park that you speak of :p

I love Sun Peaks due to their incredible grooming and wide open blue runs where one can fly like a bat out of hell.

However... Big White has those big open bowls to play in.

Sunpeaks its just a better place also ya gotta love the fact that they got the pool runnin all year long and the skating rink.. So much fun to be had there Casino night was always a blast to..

What's all this talk of Sun Peaks / Big White. If you are going to go anywhere else its all about Lake Louis, Sunshine, Panorama and Fernie. most under rated mountains out there. Way better skiing plus all that cheap Alberta booze and women in Banff.

I haven't won the lottery yet so for me to fly to Banff for a weekend of snowboarding every other weekend just isn't reality right now.

Sunshine is nice but Lake Louise sucks assmar IMO.

LOL, you didn't have anybody show the good spots then? We leave Abbotsford Fridays @ 3pm and get into banff well before last call driving there. Plus a 8 mountain Season Pass for $475 how can you go wrong. Oh I forgot that new reasort Kicking Horse in Golden. So many mountains and snow that isn't called elephant snot or concrete when you are talking about its powder.
