i know bush is a dumbass and i don't agree with most of the things he has done.
BUT. If america was my house and family, and I had a lot of people pissed off at my family and throwing shit at my house, I'd rather have Bush in charge of dealing with it than Kerry. |

Now back to reality my question is this: Will Bush and company ever stop trying to insinuate that Iraq was some how connected to the attacks on the Pentagon and WTC? Just yesterday Bush made the follwing statements:
"There was a risk, a real risk, that Saddam Hussein would pass weapons or materials or information to terrorist networks," the president said in a speech in Wilkes Barre, Pa. "In the world after Sept. 11, that was a risk we could not afford to take." So lets see we got Saddam, terrorists and 9/11 what am supposed to think? "He could have passed that knowledge onto our terrorist enemies," Bush said. "Saddam Hussein was a unique threat, a sworn enemy of our country, a state sponsor of terror operating in the world's most volatile region. In the world after Sept. 11, he was a threat we had to confront and America and the world are safer for our actions." Again we have Saddam, terrorist enemies (Al Queda?) and 9/11. This sort of pattern has been repeated so many times despite the CIA's own assesment that Saddam and Al Queda have no links. all quotes can be found at nytimes.com |

I don't recall seeing any polls that indicated such that stuck around for a long time. The pre-election prediction showed that there would definitely be the possibility of having a liberal minority government with siginifigant representation from the conservative alliance party. It's easy to say 'oh polls don't say shit', but seriously, go anywhere in America and you'll find a LARGE part of the population still supports Bush. The nation doesn't really know Kerry well enough to trust him as president, it should also seem. Also, in the past, even if a larger number of Americans supports a candidate and votes for them, it doesn't necessarily grant them presidency. The US electorial college is an enigma- I'd say most Americans barely understand the system. Anyways, the point I'm trying to get across here is that people are being too optimistic, thinking that with every little thing Kerry must have it in the bag, but in reality, this is going to be a very close race. Oooh, I get nervous just thinking about it! |
