I dunno if this is enough for Mr. Kerry, but I'm interested to see what the polls will look like tomorrow considering now they're deadlocked 49 to 49.

I think Kerrys going to upset Bush. He's allowed his staff to make too many kistakes and now he's going to take the fall.

i know bush is a dumbass and i don't agree with most of the things he has done.

BUT. If america was my house and family, and I had a lot of people pissed off at my family and throwing shit at my house, I'd rather have Bush in charge of dealing with it than Kerry.

it's hard to rely on polls though. remember our own election? the polls said harper was on his way to being the next pm by a predicted landslide. they can only provide so much insight.

fun to watch though, and i guess it's better than nothing.

So you think he's a "dumbass" and don't agree with what he's done but you still want him to be in charge of things? Okay then... now this whole metaphor about America as a house sort of works doesn't it. I think there's a few differnt ways you could look at it though. One way would be that the house America is a very large mansion in a nice part of town. Sounds good doesn't it? The only problem is that after this guy Osama vandalized their house, which did lower their property value, they decided to go and burn down Afghanistans house because Osama was crashing on their couch. It turned out though that Osama saw them coming and got out of the house just fine but many innocent people were killed. After that and still furious America went and burned down Iraqs house after accusing them of being friends with Osama. Unfortunately after now having killed even more innocent people the rest of the city liked America even less because Iraq and Osama were actually sworn enemies and Iraq had nothing to do with Vandalizing America.

The end

plus bush's buddys own the construction company that's gonna rebuild your house, iraq's house and afghanistans house, so he just sits back, lets it go down, and waits for his cut. after all, you room will probably be the first to fall, he's hiding in the basement.

Now back to reality my question is this: Will Bush and company ever stop trying to insinuate that Iraq was some how connected to the attacks on the Pentagon and WTC? Just yesterday Bush made the follwing statements:

"There was a risk, a real risk, that Saddam Hussein would pass weapons or materials or information to terrorist networks," the president said in a speech in Wilkes Barre, Pa. "In the world after Sept. 11, that was a risk we could not afford to take."

So lets see we got Saddam, terrorists and 9/11 what am supposed to think?

"He could have passed that knowledge onto our terrorist enemies," Bush said. "Saddam Hussein was a unique threat, a sworn enemy of our country, a state sponsor of terror operating in the world's most volatile region. In the world after Sept. 11, he was a threat we had to confront and America and the world are safer for our actions."

Again we have Saddam, terrorist enemies (Al Queda?) and 9/11.

This sort of pattern has been repeated so many times despite the CIA's own assesment that Saddam and Al Queda have no links.

I don't recall seeing any polls that indicated such that stuck around for a long time. The pre-election prediction showed that there would definitely be the possibility of having a liberal minority government with siginifigant representation from the conservative alliance party.

It's easy to say 'oh polls don't say shit', but seriously, go anywhere in America and you'll find a LARGE part of the population still supports Bush. The nation doesn't really know Kerry well enough to trust him as president, it should also seem. Also, in the past, even if a larger number of Americans supports a candidate and votes for them, it doesn't necessarily grant them presidency. The US electorial college is an enigma- I'd say most Americans barely understand the system. Anyways, the point I'm trying to get across here is that people are being too optimistic, thinking that with every little thing Kerry must have it in the bag, but in reality, this is going to be a very close race. Oooh, I get nervous just thinking about it!

actually i agree with you. what i was trying to say is that the optimism for kerry isn't exactly founded in cement here. voters are a strange breed, and in america it may be easier to vote for what you know than to learn the workings of a system that doesn't really work and a new candidate you've never heard of until six months ago. the reason i used the recent canadian election as an example is because the polls predicted a much more favorable outcome for the conservatives than actually resulted in the election, and i was relating that to the american situation. while the thought of bush for four more years is scary one, it's also still very possible. but don't worry, because if bush gets elected, he will also be assassinated. and then he will go down in history as a great american president - who got himself shot in the face.

Now if only the US would adopt a Canadian style 5 week election campaign with some serious spending limits...
