YOU'RE ALLOWED TO NOT BE TANNED IN THE WINTER
and if you girls do go to the tanning salon, you might as well just tan your forearms and ankles. how often will you be wearing your bathingsuit in winter. also dont forget to get bleach blonde hair to look like a tacky hawaiian in winter |

i really really really dont understand why people tan. maybe i have too much first hand experience with skin cancer, but i truely do not see the purpose. be beautiful in your own skin. i almost lost one parent to skin cancer - mostly skin cancer isnt that serious, both of my parents have had it cut off numerous times, but one time inoperable tumors were developed under the skin, and my mom had to go in for radiation treatment. why? because she grew up in california, and always had a tan.
its not healthy ladies, its not worth your life. like i said before be beautiful and comfertable in your own skin, im sure you are. p.s. -ff- your avator is amazing.... |

Sun damage = boo-erns. Having Scottish and Irish background doesn't help in the sun much either. |

Ew! Don't go before work, you'll have the icky after-tan smell!
Make sure you are using a lotion suggested by your tanning salon - this will increase your tanning by 40% (therefore you use less minutes), and it also replaces all the moisture that your skin will lose, and protect you from burning. My two favourites are Believe and Rasta. Believe has cooling properties and a bronzer, and Rasta smells amazing and has the highest percentage of tan accellerator. Indoor tanning, in moderation, is NOT bad for you. My doctor actually recommended it for me. UV Rays provide Vitamin D to the body - in the fall and winter, it is very easy for people to have Vitamin D defeciency because often, we go to work/school when it is still dark out, and return home after sunset, therefore missing the time the sun (and its Vitamin D) is available. Vitamin D defeciency can cause mood swings, depression, and yes, it can make your skin look bleak, pale and sick. If you're interested in going just to get a little colour, for the healthy look and feel, I suggest two 10 minute sessions per week. DO NOT go stand-up tanning as this is the most damaging type of tan. I suggest checking out Fabutan - they have great package prices, and they ALWAYS change their bulbs every 500 hours so you're really getting your money's worth. The cheaper tanning places may have super beds or king beds, but most of them do not change the bulbs regularly enough for it to really work out "cheaper".
