It's like this...

When my mom was pregnant, my dad said that he wanted to name me John Gregory if I was a boy (after his brother and hers). My mom said that she didn't want to have her kids named after anyone, but that she would concede to JONATHAN Gregory. My dad responded to that with "No son of mine is going to be named Jonathan", so they were stuck (this argument resumed when my mom was preggers with my brother, but he ended up as a Brandon Lee, NOT after the one of The Crow fame). My mom really liked the name Lydia, which was my great grandmother's name, but she said that Grandma would have had a conniption if they had named me Lydia because she hated her name.

I ended up with Lisa because my parents just liked the name (as did alot of parents the year I was born. :soak:), and my middle name is Maureen instead of Marie (which most Lisas are Lisa Marie), which I THINK came from my dad's cousin.

So after all of that, I STILL ended up named after someone. :p

my parents named me after a cruel tyrant who savaged innocent people apart, you know that dude- Vlad the Impaler, fairy tales rose and a story of Dracula was based on this guy

My parents had originally wanted to name me Andre (after my Oma's brother) but when I turned out to be a girl they had to do some quick thinking.
They also wanted to make sure they named their children names that couldn't be shortened (ie: Jennifer - Jenny)
Adrienne was thought up and it stuck.

My name means "to forgive" literally, its egyptian my full first name pronounced correctly in Arabic would be "Sameh" which literally means Forgive. I have no idea why my mom agreed to name me that, but my dad was in control of alot of things so i guess he chose it.
