Hrm..... Hippies I actually dont mind hippies at all... Most of the time i enjoy hippies a lot but i guess thats because i live on saltspring and im surrounded by hippies.
A lot of my friends are hippies... and yea But i do have ONE thing i decided i didnt like about a certain hippie.... He came up to me when i was on the ferry going to vic and he sat down... started talking to me and decided he needed to touch my hair... he then was grosed out because i wash my hair with SHAMPOO! and i was no longer cappable of looking at him the same way because he was like EW thats GROSE!!!! yup... i like to tell stories... |

Though I do get tired of "eau de patchouli" and the B.O. from time to time, it's quite refreshing to see them out at parties. They bring a completely different vibe and lots of random fun.
...at least they're somwhat trying to change the world for the better |

Fair enough, after living in Ontario you discover the definition of a "Hippy" is usually A) anyone who smokes chronic more than once a week B) an NDPer or C) EVERYONE who comes from Vancouver or Victoria .
Its fun. I love REAL hippies though, mad props to the free loving, herb smoking, hemp clothed, long haired brethren of the world. |

well i tend to be called a hippie most well i would say 95% of the time i dont if its my nature and they way i carry myself but personaly i think its not cool to sterotype someone for caring about you even though they dont know you , next time you so called meet a "hippie"*does the bunny ears* give them aknownledgment rather than like you punks like to call it now adays "haters"

I think being a 'hippy' has a lot more to do with beliefs, values, and the actions one takes in terms of their relationships with others and society than how one looks or what one smells like.
A lot of those 'educated' people you are talking about basically are hippies for all intents and purposes. They just dont smell like patchouli. |

i saw a hippie on the skytrain once.. she was sitting in front of me on the aisle. She started to sing silently to herself about sunshine, green grass and happy people.
I stuck my face into my coat and i was trying to keep the laughter to a minimum. |
