What happened to all the good club nights in Van?

Okay. I haven't been going out to Vancouver clubs for quite some time now...hmmm probably a few in the past year, just because house partys/local pubs/clubs and school filled up my time.

And I finally have a chance to head downtown and go clubbing tonight...and we're looking for a house night. WHERE THE F*$& are they?!! I mean, I know that clubnights were lacking out there...but there's NOTHING.

So if you could please help me out, that would be swell. We need something to do tonight.

Step #1: Ignore Granville Street.

Step #2: Head on down to Gastown.

Step #3: Indulge in nearly any club there.

Step #4: Have fun!

1. I've never gone clubbing on granville street.

2. Gastown was at one time the best place to go...sonar, shine, 7 Alexander (i went there religiously).

3. I've checked out clubvibes and clubzone (any other places I can look for club nights?) and there are none tonite. Especially the music I like. I do not want dancehall at sonar tonite.

Ah, you wanted something for a Wednesday night. Yeah, it's a bit weak here for that night. Lotus is abou the only thing worth checking, to my knowledge.

Trouble is that Wednesday comes right in the middle of the week so most people work. Not many clubs/bars are going to put much effort into setting something up on a night when their potential turnout is kind of small.

Funny pun here. Wednesday nights at Lotus is called "Trouble", run by Farshad and the Team Trainwreck crew. I've been out a few times - good fun, mashups of electro/trance/80's/whatever, cheap drinks and good people. Doesn't really ever get *packed*, per se, but gets pretty hopping after 11:30 or so.

lotuslotuslotus. it reminds me of cheeky... and yet it's more fun with better music, imo. true, it doesn't get packed because it's a relatively new night, but it's still guaranteed good times, and it's consistently getting better. i brought out a friend last week and she had such a good time she's returning tonight with another dozen of my gfs... too bad i have an 830 am exam tomorrow. (and i'm not a machine like cubed, ;))
