In an effort to extend this conversation..
What kinda foods do you guys eat at home that's simple? Eggo's and cereal for breakfast? microwave dinners or minute noodles (and of course kraft dinner)? pizza pops or just lots of take out? where do you take out? what's good? |

I won't be much help in extending this conversation, since I live at home and my Mum cooks all the time. Yeah that's right... Ima princess. When I hafta make food for myself it's usually of the instant noodle/KD/soup type variety, or I wait until I'm going out with my bf/friends later and eat out. Oh and I love McD's (I've alread confessed this sin to Auto and my penance is pending).

I've been told I'm a pretty good cook.
I learned alot by watching my parents (both are AMAZING in the kitchen) When I moved out and was living on my own, it kinda forced me to be a little more creative in order to eat healthy but still on a budget. Examples of stuff that's easy: -Stirfry (super cheap, literally takes minutes start to finish, and if you opt. for brown rice instead of white its even healthier for you) -boneless skinless chicken breasts (bread them up, stick them in the oven and your done) -salad (anyone can do it) I think its just important to be creative when you cook. Try and change things up alot and dont have a routine. I like to take random things that I might have sitting around my kitchen and see what I can make with them. When you're first learning how to cook, this might not always work in your favour. After a while tho, you start getting a general idea of what sort of foods works together and then you can really start having fun with it. |
