if you have an ingredient that holds alotta moisture and you don't wanna lose that juicyness... like say a steak, you wanna SEAR the meat under high heat till its SEARED not BURNT, then cook under low heat slowly till its cooked. when you sear it it creates a crust around the meat that closes the pores so the juice can't escape. the longer you cook it, the juices will find its way out eventually.
beef you can eat rare but chicken and pork are BIG NO's.. you gotta cook that stuff all the way through u never need to use high heat as well... cooking at low to medium high is the way to go but the searing technique is a good one to remmeber. you can apply it to anything. good way to learn is to be more observant i guess around people who know their way around the kitchen.... or possibly watching cooking shows on tv |

George Foreman Grill and a mighty strong can opener it is. Any tips on cooking vegetables and making sauces?
The 5 strong recipes tip is DOPE. and the meat searing thing makes sense. I heard that the best way to cook a steak is by not touching it. or something. :^). also, i wanna acquire a kick ass wine collection. few things look more pimp than a nice wine collection (those few things are legit CD collections, and a well rounded magazine collection. damn.) any suggestions? The only wine i really drink is yellow tail shiraz, cabirnet sauvignon (sp?), fat bastard shiraz, and... some sorta... hill... wine. |

alright as for the cooking thing here are some tips:
1. pasta is always an easy thing... just change up the sauces...you can buy bottled ones, or other pre packaged ones or just grab a can of tomatoe sauce, tomatoe paste, and then add in your fave spices, like oregano, garlic, fresh garlic, and cheese...mmmm 2. have lots of spices on hand. always. 3. easiest thing for chicken: put on pan...cover in your fave oil based salad dressing....such an easy marinade 4. for wine: just head to any kinda place that deals with just wine and have them talk to you about it....a lot of the little wine places LOVE to talk for hours about every kind |
