if you buy hair from a barbershop and do it yourself it can cost under $20 |

my friend always used to get it done.. it looked alright when it was down.. but when she put it up she would always have to wear a headband thingy.. i think hers were weaved in? or stitched in? it wasnt glued i know that.. so if she put it up you could see where the extentions started. but it was real hair. looked good when she first got them done..then after a while it looked shitty and fake.

just cut the fibers out of a broom, and use food coloring or something to die it all your hair color! you might need to get some glue sticks too. voila, think of all the money you saved
or you could walk up to somebody who has similar hair to yours and pin her down and start cutting it off |

I had extensions for a while. Granted they were totally fun ( I had white blonde dreadies) but can be a total pain in the rear to maintain- that counts for all types of hair extensions.
It's really important to check the quality of the hair your getting sewn in. Dont get something b/c it might cost a less than another option. Spend the extra cash in order to make sure you dont end up with nappy, gross, really fake looking hair |

i got them at Abantu, its right across the street from metro town.
They are the glue in ones. You just put the glue on the top of the extensions and place it like a quarter inch from the part onto your hair so its not goin on your scalp. and then you take a super hot culring iron and press it on top of the extension until it feels like your scalp is on fire haha. the longer you keep the curling iron on it the harder it will hold and will stay in place longer. they last about 2 weeks then you take em out with this special lotion stuff you can buy and reglue them in place. |

Yea! What Adrienne said! I have had extentions before & they are suuuuch high maintenance. In my experience I perfer the clip in hair method, mostly because it is the least damaging for your hair. You can buy the special suuuper strong clips from abantu(thats where I got all my shit) I think no matter what way you get extentions done, they are always a pain in the butt, haha. Just make sure the person who's helping you knows what the hell they're doing, cause you dont want to eff up your real hair. AND, be so careful with the hair bonding glue, cause it can be scary stuff & extremely damaging to your real hair....Oh yea, & dont try to dye the hair yourself, go get a pro to do it! hehehe... anywaay, Its so much fun having crazy long hair, I dont think I'm patient enough for it anymore though, hehe :) Last edited by ~*faeryfly*~; Feb 05, 05 at 11:36 PM. |

thats not extensions then... thats wut u call a weave.. lol thats wut my mom had.. she cut her hair really short.. and she got her hair corn rowed and the women weaved in real hair that looked like my moms.. it works if ur hair isnt well.. my mom's type.. cuz it looked funny.. all u gotta do to apply it is section off ur hair.. (the bottom anywhere below ur top ear lines section ur hair off.. and every other layer u glue the extension's in.. so one layer u leave it.. then u section off another thin layer and glue it on the line thingy.. i dunno i jus woke up and cant explain very well.. lol maybe i'll explain better later.. but u get the idea sort of. edit - i didnt read the other posts.. lol.. oppss |

dont use home dying products.. their shti and will fuck up the extensions.. jus like natural hair, if u dye it w/ home products the hair will become dry and damaged.. u dont wanna damage the extensions. |
