All you can eat sushi! (advice needed)

So my former room-mate and good friend is visiting from Australia for a couple of weeks in early march. He said there are 3 foods that he misses the most:

1) Panago Ham & Pineapple with garlic ranch dipping sauce
2) Wendy's Spicy Chicken combo
3) All you can eat sushi

I think I'm fairly confident in hooking up the first 2, because I'm not retarded. But the last one.. I could use some sushi advice (I know there's NO shortage of it) because I tend to not go to all you can eat places.

Things to think about when you're thinking "Heeey... maybe I should tell him about THAT place..."

#1 - QUALITY.. yeah it's all you can eat, but will I WANT to eat it?
#2 - Good variety of items?
#3 - Hot waitresses?
#4 - Not in Surrey? (or the "pseudo-Surries", langley, delta, Poco, etc)

they have the freshest best sushi, noodles, tempura etc.

Didn't forget, but I heard a bunch of people say that there are better places. Some even said different locations of that same chain are better. It was fun sitting in a boat though, they can never take that away from us.

since your buddy's been outta town, i'd say go for the dinner AYCE, that way you'll literally have everything on the menu

edit: the shabusen that's on granville or whatever (not alberni) is much better. the alberni/robson one is definetely geared to tourists.

most all you can eat are owned by chinese.
so if you just want good all you can eat, kamei would beat shabusen.
if you want authentic japanese all you can eat (which i don't know if it even exists or not), keep digging.

Well I just got back from Shabusen and I gotta say.. thanks FnK. That was truly delicious sushi, and we had a great time.

Topgun in New west, (in the key). Is easily the best all you can eat place in my opinion. The price is reasonable. But the key is the service, they always have enough waiters on and even have a guy in a suit, who just walks around and checks on you to make sure you got everything you ordered and your meal is alright.

The food is excellent, fast service, and a reasonable price. It's just a little out of the way.

I actually prefered shabusen over topgun, but yes topgun has by far better service and its a huge place with tons of tables and a better price.

I like OHAKO sushi on broadway and granville to for $13 its pretty good all you can eat.
