hmmm, well i've seen them let in minors, with the dude at the door specifically say "well, if you donate to the tip jar i can look the other way"
um, i've seen guards let people in for dope. so that's 2 breaks. and yes they've happened more than once. so with my single rule breaking, i win. btw: i don't care if i'm breaking the rules. that's up to the guards to enforce them. and if my standing there and smoking isn't obvious enough, maybe they all deserve to lose their jobs. oh yea, hate on my smoking all you want, but if you're gonna get all self-righteous, maybe they should start screening for drugs. |

up until now they've been more than happy to break the law, to keep smokers like yourself happy. but recently they were busted for it, and threatened with a HUGE fine, so now they have to play by the rules. (and that means you do too) lol |

I went to BT, tonight. After about 20 min., I went up to Farshad, by the decks, to talk to him about the new system (I'd heard about it, ages ago, and was surprised that it actually happened!). My first comment was that, ... I was expecting a li'l bit more (((BOOOOM))) from it. The sound was NOT that fantastic. Loud? Yes. (Witness people hollering in each others' faces) I asked him about it, and he told me that the system was NOT up to snuff. They've got the system-tech coming out to tweek the system on Friday. As for the new set-up? Different, yeah. I kinda liked the old one, but, quickly grooved on the new digs! Yes, it's good. Crazy Dave deserves MAD _BIG UP_!!!!!! for running loops from the BBC prod. of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"!!!! "The Babel Fish was such an _extraordinary_ creation, that it set in motion the bloodiest, most vicious battles ever in the history of the cosmos" (Or, something like that...) Once, again, good toonz, good drinks, good people, and good times! Cheers, all! Frosty (WHERE da BASS at?!?) |

The sound was shit,,, needs EQed to death, and little more compression, Heck if they could it also needed well shaped side chained compression but no one in this city can do that with a system well, frequencies seams to go up unevenly as the volume was turned up. The rear right speaker was crapping out. I could not tell if it was loose in the casing or was clipping.
So drunk I though I lost my DVD player doing visuals. But then I totally forgot my screen. |

PS if you use a slow attack and slow release then you do not noitce the compression but it helps baby sit DJ's that have no idea about mixers and sound. |

Yeah. Nice setup (what's with those weird folded bassbins? interesting, but I don't understand how they can generate tight bass when they're wide open like that), but *desperately* needs tuning.
glad to hear there's a specialist coming in. |

But I do say it accurate or not, this is not the symphony, it's club and the bass was punchy as all hell that's what counts. BTW I heard some thing about it being Xmax sound? It would be interest to know. |

yeah...it's xmax sound...
yeah, it hasn't been completed yet, they're still in the processes of eqing it, it'll help when they do the eq this friday when they eq it at 1 am on a crowded dancefloor. yeahm, there's compression, always has been. yeah, it's louder, but it's also a lot cleaner, and more bass punch. as for complaints, even with the lack of eq it sounded prtetty damn good on tuesday, and drum and bass arguably leads the pack when it comes to production quality of electronic music. might i suggest that the musical selections of team trainwreck, though admirably enjoyable, comprises such a wide variety of production standards, especially pressing quality of vinyl, that they're not going to be much of a test of ANY sound system... ;) |

Ummm I'd not go as far as to say production quality of all the music they play is bad. They play a lot of over produced top40 tracks from the 80's off of CD. And last night it was hurting with even those. But true enough about the rest. It also could be an issue of how the different music use the frequencies. Jungle's Treble come more in a spike rather then sustained. Also I could see how the bass in the place would work killer with jungle, it totally would punch up the low end. |

re called "team trainwreck" personally, we had to do some serious eqing on the mixer on teusday to get it sounding better, it was extremely bright....all i'm saying is that sound fidelity is NOT what wednesday's are really about, and i'm a fan. |

Oh yea,,, they did not bother to EQ themselves, even when I suggested it... that's totally why there's a different in option them. It's %100 clear now. hahahah PS I think team train wreck is some what stemming from an old joke Glyn had years ago. Not just there style at the night. |

Me down at the Lotus on Wednesday, scoping the new layout out:
"Wow. This sounds much crisper; cleaner. Squeaky, even. My ears don't hurt as much. But where'd the bass disappear to?" Wanders over to a far corner near the exit stairs. "Ah, here it is." I'm sure the equipment just needs more EQ-ing and perhaps the speakers need some more bleed-in time (if they're Factory Fresh new, that is). I rather like the east/west layout better. Still, not having a counter to plunk your drink down right beside you on the dancefloor's a bit of a pain. |
