Today's Vancouver Province
special section, B1
photo: girls dancing in mesh, photoshopped glowsticks all around them. title: METH MADNESS subtitle: DEADL MIX: Police say crystal meth, linked to the deaths of 33 people in B.C. last year, has been found mixed in ecstacy pills commonly taken by ravers. Skimming through the article, there is hardly a mention of "raves" anywhere, except that it appeared in the scene 15 years ago. (quoted from article). Cliff notes: province article states obvious, media hypes raves again without actually having substance ABOUT raves in the article. |

i think if i was doing the article i'd be choosing between a picture of kids at a rave or kids on the street in a backalley. i guess they chose the rave photo to try and "glamorize" it.
i havent read the article but is it on crystal meth, or just methamphetamines in general? cause if its just on meth in general, ecstacy falls into that category and i think realisticly you really only see it being done at "electronic music functions" (with the rare occasion of it being elsewhere). |

Having been one of the people interviewed, I was interested to see what they did with it. I believe it was for The Sun, not The Province. But I may have gotten that twisted, seeing as how there was loud music and such. Oh well. |

(I always say "moral of story" lines)... I hate blanket statements that drag me down with a bunch of idiots. Grrr. SOME PEOPLE LIKE THE MUSIC SANS DRUGS! |

all we need now is people looking at meth negativly the way people look at marijuana. |

haha I love it.
Apparently there is no longer a heroin epidemic to worry about ( because these thirty some odd people that died from meth use as cited on the paper's front page apparently don't die ten fold in this city from overdoses or related diseases like contracting HIV from infected needles in a day/week/year) The province is traaash anyways. |
