Usually the name of the promoter grabs my attention first.

Then the lineup, venue, cost.

Dont get me wrong, it has to stand out as well or else I wont pick it up and take a look at any of the things above.

DJDeeb is on a distinguished road
The lineup does nothing for me. If there someone that i want to see i would of heard about it via a different source then someone handing me a flyer.
I think the overall design is the one thing that makes me grab that flyer instead of the other one next to it.

Some good examples of flyers that i can remember are

Simple - The flyer was like a book....

Twister - with the spinner on it.....

Shout - i like they way they went into great detail to make the flyer resemble the front & back of the real Shout bottle.

Fabric - ( this was either a nightclub or a certain night at a club...not sure ) but this flyer was a peice of cloth with the type embroidered in ( must of been expensive but definatly got my attention )

i like to see something that i haven't before. like myra said, if it's not just a flyer, but a little novelty, goes a long way. if it is just a flyer i like to see things that show a high degree of party. when a flyer looks ultra trendy and fashionable it doesn't do much to grab the attention of someone who has "been there, done that."

failing all that, if it's a solid promoter i know i'm gonna have a gooooood time.

I don't see how the line up would get your attention....
The colors and the design are usually the first things you notice.
The DJ's/performers are usually printed INSIDE the flyer, so you can't really judge a flyer on first glance by line up unless the thing happens to be laying open...

Its the design and creativity (with colors, sizes, font types etc) that catch my eye any how.
